I'm also new to Blu Ray and i recently sold my Xbox 360 Hd Dvd add on for the PS3 and Blu Ray. In justifying my decision to friends i've been confronted with the comment that Hd Dvd landed the porn industry as it's backer so the fall of Blu Ray is near. I've enjoyed reading all of the comments by members on this site so i'm interested in hearing your responses.

The porn industry is charging 50 dollars per porn flick, and almost all of them have been reviewed as being horribly done and barely looking any better then DVD. So not sure what market there is for overpriced, underperforming porn these days, but it wont make a lick of difference when it comes to this format war.

This month Vivid, a leading porn company, is releasing "Debbie Does Dallas...Again," or at least I think that's what it is called, on BR only. It's a new movie, and it shows BR has porn support.

its not actually a porno....its a reality show on showtime that cronicles the making of the remake of Debbie Does Dallas.....Im assuming they are just gonna show on the blu ray what they show on showtime....I doubt it will be rated X, prolly just R or Mature.....nothing hardcore

Then I must be misreading the press release. Because it's talking about the sequel being released to HD and the TV "Reality series" about the making of the new feature.

I was in a local dvd (ezydvd.com.au) store the other day looking blue-ray titles. I was suprised when the store owner said he didn't have any, but that he had a couple of HDdvd's. I got into a conversation with him and his wife over BR vs HDdvd. They informed me that they were waiting to purchase a HDdvd player as they belive it will be the format that wins out. There view stemed back to the Beta vs VHS war were the VHS format won out due to suport from the Adult movie industry. It appears that they may be right I looked on the net and have found several adult production houses that suport HDdvd, but I don't seem to be able to find any suporting Blue-ray. Why? is sony prepared to lose out over some kind of censorship issue? censor ship dosn't work, the same Amarican Christian radicals that denounce porn are the same one's that promote gun vilance? should they be aloud to destroy Blue-ray? At the end of the day I don't care I have made my choice, BR and am very happy with the quality.

Well I merged this with the big adult thread. There are now 4 adult BD titles in Region A. Plus the fifth coming soon Vivid title that had to be moved to "the end of April" due to finding a new replicator.

Well if HD dvd is supporting porn and blu ray is not , then there is a good chance that parents who dont want their children to watch porn on Tv(at least, u cant stop people from watching porn) might opt for the blu ray format. So this is one way u can look at it and therefore either way Blu ray all the way woooohoooooo

I'm sure there are all kinds of parents who are afraid their children will see HD porn. Porn in SD is okay, but what will happen if they see it in high def? Won't someone think of the children!?!?!?
