From the Manufacturer
When One Man Is Not Enough…

It will take an Army of Two to stop the corruption of rogue private military corporations. Fight along side your team-mate to become the deadliest two-man military outfit a government can buy. The breakthrough gameplay in Army of Two, with a live or adaptive AI partner, enables you to take advantage of two-man strategies like customizable weapons, vehicles, and tactical shooting. If you’re going to survive, you’ll have to bring down a vast conspiracy in which the line between ‘good guys’ and ‘bad guys’ has been obliterated.

FEATURES

* Two-Man Gameplay—Co-op is no longer a mode, it’s the game. Team up with a live or AI partner on two-man missions using two-man tactics to ultimately create an advantage that no enemy can withstand.
* Partner AI—Army of Two delivers intelligent partner AI (PAI) that interacts with, adapts to, collaborates with, and learns from its human partner. The PAI also reacts and adjusts to your ability and how you play the game by taking the lead or following, driving strategy or taking orders. It is the dream of the human machine.
* Customizable Weapons—Personalize and upgrade dozens of deadly weapons and share them with your partner off- or online.
* Dynamic Environments—EA’s Montreal studio pulled out all the stops to deliver realistic character and environmental effects including fluid dynamics that showcase open-ocean water-wave simulation as well as High Dynamic Range (HDR) lighting.
* Contemporary Storyline Ripped from the Headlines—Army of Two draws you in with a captivating, politically charged storyline, centering on the impact and ethical issues of private military corporations.
* Online Gameplay—Army of Two redefines two-man online gameplay as you progress through the game seamlessly moving between PAI and live players.

According to a 1UP podcast (the recent one with N'Gai Croal) the PS3 version may actually be better in some respects. Hopefully a repeat of Burnout Paradise's performance.

All I can say is EA. That lowers my expectations of the game big time. The days of good EA games are long gone.

This game has been pushed back so much that I completely lost interest.

3rd person

focused on Co-op play

Uber buff with cool looking armor/weapons

That's all I need. I'm all over this game. I'm SO FREAKIN' SICK of FPShooters. The whole first person thing just doesn't work for me. I like seeing my dude on screen and I don't like always like it when he looks 'normal' (except in RB6 of course, but that is a compromise because it is 3rd person when you are in cover). Cover systems rock. For immersion, 3rd person rocks. For fun, co-op is king.

EA does make me nervous, but apparently the delay resulted in a ton of improvements.

Hmmm I watched the demo...Looks like almost all the hits go to the head and explode blood the same way. It cool the first time. Get boring after awhile.

Ahhh it's a demo..The game should be better.

Must say, this game looks awesome. But i am not sure I will get it or not.
I moved out almost 2 years ago and my bro and I used to always play games like this together. Now I would see him once a week. Unless the co-op game play can be done via internet, I'm afraid I'd have to refrain from this title.

I would seriously caution anyone against blind buying this game before reading some reviews on it.

GamesRadar got their hands on a preview copy of the game several months ago, right before the last delay, and they had this to say about Army of Two:

http://www.gamesradar.com/ps3/army-o...1743109055/p-2

Quote:
As it stands, Army of Two is a juvenile swear-fest with clumsy controls, a story apparently penned by a seven year old who hates them ay-rabs, laughable level design that tosses you into a cut-scene every thirty seconds, sub Perfect Dark Zero graphics and the two least likable characters in gaming history. We’d rather play as a Bubsy the Bobcat/Raiden from Metal Gear Solid tag-team than these two douchebags. The delay is a stay of execution. It has four months to get even vaguely good. Hope for a miracle.
I'm not saying the game hasn't improved in the time since... but you should definitely check some reviews before buying.

It was those reviews that made them rework it completely.

The more recent writeups seem to be more excited and positive.

Edit: I do have to admit that the lack of coverage (and popularity indexing) on many game sites given how close to release we are is slightly concerning.

Why make a mega thread for a game that's not even out yet and not sure it'll even be a hit?? I know I'm not buying it, looks good but that's just the trailer

Why not? its how the COD4 thread started.

@iceimage,

i cant read the review during work, but based on the quote, what frightens me is the said posters comments on the game, and the way he phrases it.

im considering doing a blind buy on this, as it was one of the games that i highly anticipated back then. albeit the negative image EA has right now, im still getting it.

they had a strong campaign when they were trying to release this a couple of months ago, and i guess it suddenly faded. true, it is something that im a bit worried about.

nonetheless, im still getting it.

Knowing its been delayed is a good thing. I hate games that get rushed out and end up being crap. If you want a good game then take your time. Still few games take advantage of the Cell. I rent first just to b sure. Though im pretty sure ill get this game. Seems tight.
