Forrest Gump on ABC HD

Did anybody watch Forrest Gump on ABC HD last night? I turned to it in between commercials of the game and the aspect ratio was weird. I don't know if it was how it was meant to be but anyways the bottom bar was consistent with a 2.35:1 but the top bar was about one and a half to two times what it should have been. Imdb says it's 2.35:1...can anyone confirm this from their DVD, I don't have it.

I'm amazed you could sit through the commercials. I can't stand trying to watch a movie on a commercial network. No telling what they did to it, including cutting it to squeeze in more advertising.
