Because, then it would have been like Troy (which I liked as well). I enjoyed 300 for all the reasons you didn't.
I second this. To compare this to Troy is not comparing apples to apples.

Both great movies, but 300 at least had some truth to it vs. Troy was total myth.

Not everyone is going to like or love the same movies, thank goodness.

I felt most let down by Close Encounters, thought the transfer would be better, think I even heard SS was disappointed?

I think my answer sufffices, because I would have watched the same movie on DVD with shitty PQ. So, as far as an overrated Blu-Ray???

I agree with that but for the reason BlueNeon mentioned. That is, people have been going crazy for it b/c it's scarce.

I'll admit. Ghostrider looked really good, but I can't get over the fact that the movie sucked. I don't know if I'll watch it again. There's just certain movies that can't be helped. Shoot 'em up is another one.

Does that make it an overrated Blu-Ray or an overrated movie? I think if you say "overrated" Blu-Ray you are saying the movie on Blu did not match up to its SD counterpart....

the shining... don't get me wrong I loooove this movie but after watching 2001 and being awe-inspired I thought that the transfer on this film could've been a bit better. It has moments of wow but that's all...

Exclamation Agggghhh!!!

I totally disagree with all the posts before mine!

Over-rated? You guys/gals listed: 300, Shooter, Apocalypto, Sunshine, 2001, Blade Runner, Shoot'Em Up and the Host (at least).

Those were all great films that look and sound great. I couldn't totally disagree more with you all if I tried.

Now you can sling some arrows by way, my vote for most over rated is: Unforgiven.

I thought it was okay, not great. I have seen Gene Hackman play better parts (Crimson Tide for one). It was a one shot viewing for me.

Or

how about Crank? I actually forgot I had seen that movie in the theaters only about 10 weeks before I saw the standard DVD of it. The movie made no impression on me at all. I enjoyed The Transporter and was looking forward to another good Jason movie, but this had a dumbass plot. I heard it had great PQ and all, but not for me.

Well the topic is including everything including the movie itself. That's what I was getting at, The Audio, and Video is awesome, but I hate to say it's not going to pull me back in to watch the movie again. There's just some movies I can only watch 1 or 2 times. That's it.

I thought it was a good movie, but most of the sweating and freaking out was done by the movie trader crew in Beanie Baby mode.

Spartans usually TRAINED in the nude. They didn't go to battle in the nude.

i'd go with sunshine. i blind bought it with shoot em up...loved shoot em up more than i thought i would. sunshine started off with so much potential SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER so why did they have to go the route of a guy surviving on the other ship and then going crazy and coming back onto the ship to kill the second ship's crew? it was honestly a terrible idea that should just not have been done, it was AMAZING until it went the psycopath route SPOILER OVER SPOILER OVER

300 is also overrated. not grain. don't care bout grain. i just thought the movie was poor, overhyped, and a complete disappointment. i know its based on a comic book, but did we really need a guy with a claw arm? c'mon

there is no such thing as a blu ray that doesnt match up with its sd counterpart. even the worst blu ray (tomb raider) is better than the dvd

making the biggest disappointment blu ray wise...

TOMB RAIDER!!! can't believe it hasn't been said.
