That is the sort of sequel I would watch.

David Tennant made the film watchable for me. I hope he comes back, there is no reason for him not to.

The remake was ok, but I liked the original much better. To me, Fright Night (1985) will always be a comedy / horror classic.

I actually really dug David Tennant. I thought he had the perfect f**k it attitude. The original PV was my favorite character in that film, no question. Tennant I liked a lot, but it'll take another viewing before I call him my favorite character. I liked the cast in the remake. I loved the part when he first sat down with Charlie, and his total flip at the end. He was funny and badass.

Think the plan IS to do the Tennant-spinoff sequel they didn't get to do (Dreamworks hadn't heard yet about Warner dropping its DTV line of Lost Boys "sequels"), as haven't heard yet any plan to drop him.

And again, I never thought they could get away with a naively 80's-nostalgic Fright Night remake in a post-80's age where late-nite local-station TV horror movies/hosts are now extinct--which would pose certain problems for the plot--but let's face it: Everybody knows David Copperfield and Criss Angel have it coming.
Outside of Vegas, magicians are Salman-Rushdie level PO'ed at Copperfield for breaking the ethics of their industry with that Statue of Liberty disappearance, and the rest of us have just been waiting for someone to portray him as a big vain fraud.

I saw that. Weird that they would make a sequel to this. Seeing how it didn't perform so well at the box office. But I'm guessing it sold alot and found its audience on DVD and Blu Ray.

The one thing in that article cracked me up though.
[Show spoiler]With them saying Collin Farrel wouldn't be returning. Yeah, no shit. His character was killed at the end.

Guess we'll just need to see where this one goes, straight to video or not.

Honestly I wanted this movie but i hope new girlfriend, David Tennant, and Anton Yelchin. Plus keep the same premise of the first and maybe change it up a little.

Those two could possibly return considering they don't have much of a career.

That's what I was just thinking. He has a huge career over in the UK, and a pretty big following here because of his time on 'Doctor Who'. I know it's because of that I actively seek out his newest films and shows.

Yeah David does a lot of Dramas and Theater work over here. Also he does a couple of films a year, not to mention everybody knows he was the Doctor. I am just shocked someone would say that...

I think he meant movie career in the US. I never heard of this David guy until I saw Fright Night. As I have said he was the weak link in that film for me so I hope he doesnt come back personally. He doesnt hold a candle to the original Peter Vincent in my book. I also hope they go for a female vampire just like they did in the original sequel. Got Em!!

(And besides, they say Bartie Crouch sent his own son to Azkaban prison!)

I laugh at this because the whole film doesn't have anything on the original. But David Tennant was the best part of the whole film imo.

Same, Fright Night is one of my favorite 80's movies and horror movies. I loved the remake as well and thought it would suck and it was pretty good

Laugh all u want. Matter of fact take some laughing gas if it helps. Tennant was the worst part of the film for me. We do agree that this film has nuthin on the original though but it was still a decent remake. Got Em!!
