Brainstorming request

Ok, this is something that I could use a few folks for, maybe someone who really has some spare time to devote to it.

Back in the divx day, to provide an example, a lot of sites began running buttons and banners with the logo of "one format". There are advocates on both sides of the fence but something along the same lines could prove useful from a mindshare perspective.

I want to see if folks here would be interested in making this push. I'd love to have on AoD a "One Format: Blu-ray!" button of some sort. People could use them for avatars on various forums as well.

I have no graphics skill nor the time to really drive something like this. It needs to be a grassroots kind of thing as well, consumer-viral.

I'm figuring something that incorporates the blu-ray logo/name with the One Format phrase above or below it. Something that a site could use in like 100x100 form that would also scale well to avatars for forums.

While I like the idea of being proactive in getting studios to support Blu-ray exclusively, I also feel dirty about it. HD DVD supporters have been pushing this same angle since before HD DVD launched with no success.

It depends on how it's done. If you have folks fillibustering threads with lies and arguments constantly (among other things)...that's the kind of behavior that quickly goes along with your concerns.

But if someone just wants to have some kind of "unified message" avatar/sig that isn't inflamatory or flame bait-ish...I don't see how that in and of itself is equal to the likes of what you're talking about.

believe me, I'm not looking for an rdjam kind of site. we're not talking about making BS points about things and skewing things.

It's more of making something that can allow people and sites to go with the mentality of saying "one format", enough already. I'm looking at putting this button square on my main site and we get about 35,000 unique visitors a day and an average of 100,000 impressions a day. I want to be able to say "one format!" and my preference right there. I did this back in the DVD/Divx days as well, saying one format and listing my preference.

I have graphics skills! I use a Intel iMac with Photoshop CS2 Pro.
