Default HDMI Pass Thru Audio Diluted ????????????

Thanks in advance again! Since my HT-S894 HTIB is pass thru and I have it HDMI from DVD to AVR and AVR to TV for video along with optical back from TV to AVR, does that mean the audio is also making that loop and losing some quality? The AVR does recognize the audio from the DVD but would it sound better if I ran a separate optical from DVD to AVR????????????

Yeah, I would definitely suggest running audio direct from DVD.

You should never run audio through a tv to a receiver.
