Default Fios v. Cablevision

Who offers ultimate HD experience?
I think fiber optics is not available everywhere and satellite is not an option for those of us living in the buildings but if it were, who offers more HD programs, crisp broadcasting and best DVR?

I have optimum which offers about 25 HD channels and HD DVR service (for $14 a months). I have no complaints but some of the HD channels are really bad (not any better than SD), while others like Home and Garden TV and Equator are amazing.
With fiber optics now available, I was wondering if I should switch (they are bit cheaper too)

I have Directv and the HD experiece is very good. Lots of channels.

We also have FIOS in the area....I do have their internet. The HD picture is excellent, however they are lagging behind Directv in number of channels....way behind.

im stuck with Comcrap, their hd selection is just that, trash. I used to have directv like 8 years ago but we dont have the best of weather year round so rain storms and such would block out of a lot channels so I stuck with cable since then. They have maybe 20 channels in my area I guess, the only one I really want they dont have (Science channel HD), theres also commercials for it which really bites. Their signal has gone down hill lately also, all of a sudden it will stutter and get blurry messed up pixels all over the screen and continue to do that every minute or so until you eventually just change the channel and hope the next one doesnt. I wish I could get fios but we're probably 10 years away from getting that in our area. Closest town that has it is about 50 minutes away.

My mother in law had Bright House and has since switched to Fios. I notice quite a bit less artifacting ad blocking, and the color seems to be a hair better on Fios.

I should've list Direct TV and Dish Network, but I guess HD experience outside bluray is disappointing at the moment. On that note, watched my first BD on my new ps3 and pq was stunning. No comparison with hd channels on cable.

Default The HD content I watch is just fine - DirecTV HD

I have DirecTV along with their HR-21 HD DVR and am enjoying it alot. It has 95 HD Channels, all of which are broadcasting in 1080i or 720p. The 720p channels are usually sports oriented. No, it does not reach the heights of my Panasonic DMP-BD30 Blu-ray Disc Player, but that is what makes 'it' special. Who would have ever thought that Foodnetwork would be in HD. Now all we need is smell-a-vision . [Jim]

I have had Verizon for over a year and LOVE it. The PQ is sharper then cable even in SD. The HD channels just pop compared to cable. Verizon does not compress as much as cable does. They are trying to add the MLB baseball package (can't wait for that). They will be adding 60 new HD channelsstarting in the spring and 150 by end of '08. They need to finish some upgrade 1st. Per engadget here is the link
