Default Crank: Extended Edition

Hi, sorry if this has been asked before... I didn't find anything using the search function.

Does anyone know what's different between the US LionsGate cut of Crank and the cut on the Crank: Extended Edition from overseas? It seems a bit pricey to pick up for 45 seconds of extra violence or something. Also, is the PQ/AQ worthy?

Thanks

also a note
the north american version as 6.1 PCM whereas the german one has 5.1 DTS-HD.

And i have no idea how the PQ of the german one is, but the NA one is outstanding.

Agreed! This was actually the very first BD movie I watched on my PS3 and was blown away. I had to watch it again as I couldn't get enough of the PQ.

On a different note, I have brought this question up before about wondering if Crank was OOP, here is a thread on another board about it.

Crank OOP

Anyone else know of any rumors of 1.1 release for Crank?

The German release has been noted to being slightly better, being VC-1. I own the German HD DVD myself and it's incredible.

Well, the codec has nothing to do with whether one looks better than the other. It all depends on quality of the encoding software/hardware and the skill of the compressionist. You can make any of the 3 codecs look better than the other two under varying conditions and if you know what you are doing.

The US version of "Crank" is fine the way it is.

Well, thank you for that tidbit...

The German releases is still VC-1 and it is still regarded as being slightly better in terms of PQ. I have not blown up screen caps and looked myself, but I'm sure the people who came to that conclusion have.

Perhaps I should have worded my original post better. People have said the German Crank has slightly better PQ than the US. The German releases is also VC-1.
