Default Best Buy Sticker Removal

I just got Beasts of the Southern Wild and the Best Buy sticker isn't coming off. I know this is an issue that others have, but the main solution is something you buy to remove them and I'd much rather be spending that money on movies plus others seem to think that stuff doesn't work so does anyone have a sort of method that might help me with this?

The cap has a handy plastic blade that helps you to gently scrape stuff off the surface.

This has nothing to do with movies.

I do it slowly. Take it one edge at a time and take it off as slowly as possible so that you don't leave any residue.

Leave the sticker alone! Don't remove it.

Goo Gone it's all you need. You can pick it up at WM or most other B&M stores that sell cleaning supplies.

Here is a nice tut written by G:Box.

Someone has also recommended using a blowdryer (gently, without the disk in the case).

I messed up my Avengers 3D set by pulling off the sticker. Usually for a slip-cover I rip as much as possible off then gt a toothbrush and some soap and watcher and carefully scrub. It works great. But not for lenticular covers.

WD-40 was something someone recommended here and it has come in handy with bothersome stickers.

Default Removing stickers with Goo Gone?

So I may have just ruined my Iron Man slip cover. It had some awful stickers on it that were coming off but leaving a residue when I removed them. So I used "Goo Gone" to get the sticker residue off. Everything seems fine now, but will I have damage downt he road? If so is there something I should clean it with to counteract the "good gone"?

I used "good gone" with a paper towel (dry-no water) then used a t-shirt to try to remove the "goo gone"

Any other ideas?

You did exactly what I always do with Goo Gone. I haven't seen any negative effects yet.

I used goo gone and ruined 2 slips probably by rubbing a Tad hard (which was not hard at all more of a wipe) I immediately went back to lighter fluid which in 20yrs never damaged a single item from action figures, vinyl and movies.

The bottle instructions state clearly to wash surface with soap and water to remove all chemical residue. Obviously you won't do that with a slipcover. However, that means that the chemical will remain unless some effort is made to reduce its presence. If you are that concerned, I'd recommend giving it several passes with a very lightly damp cloth that has been thoroughly rinse out after each pass.

Then again, I don't give two rat shits about slipcovers and recycle them all anyhow. So, take my advice with a grain of salt.

Same here, and I have action figures from around 20 years ago that I never washed after using Goo Gone and they still look mint, even under lights looking for fading. I always wipe thoroughly yet gently when done.

Thanks to everyone who added their thoughts. It makes me feel more at ease. To the poster above: were they glossy slips? Or matte? I would assume matte doesnt have any extra protection?
