PS3 another audio problem? - Blu-ray Forum

HI
Just got ps3 and I love it, but I've got small problem with audio.
I own JVC TH-D50 home theater and Hitachi P42H401 plasma TV.
I connected PS3 with HDMI cable and run optical cable from TV. I did this because my home theater has only 2 audio connections and I wanna use it with TV, ps3 and HD-DVD. Everything works but receiver are recognizing just 2-channels audio (PCM) - no 5.1 or DTS, nothing on Bitstream
Any ideas how to get 5.1 and DTS back?

you have to set the TV's digital audio output to "Dolby" (and also set PS3 optical to bitstream)

you will probably lose support for dts (?)

It is wise to run optical from PS3 directly to receiver to avoid any audio troubles. (get an optical switcher if you need more inputs)

also I`m using front HDMI port - is possible is limited?
I`m gonna to look after optical switcher
