Cool In France, TPS becomes the first HDTV provider !

In France, two big satellite's broadcasting groups exists. The first one, Canal Sat exists since 1996 and has got the cinema and the Football rights. TPS exists since 1997, as many people pay to see football, they don't really have consumers... In the cinema branch, they only have Warner Bros exclusives and nothing else...

So how can they survive now ? They found the way ! They'll be the first to introduce HD Broadcasting in France !

Their spec are 720p/1080i in MPEG-4 with 5.1 sound, that's all they say on their official webpage

That's great that France will have HDTV. Hopefully that will get Sky1 moving in HDTV as well. Maybe even Premire, but who knows?

Yep, and in fact they are just advertising, we can see the new decoder but we don't see any price

In belgium they'll start testing HDTV with FIFA 2006.
Decoder price here for SDTV is € 200 so I don't think it'll be less...

I don't know for France tho..

I remember watching the Super Bowl last year in Germany and it was on Premire. I was impressed with the picture that came out of our TV I know it wasn't HighDef but it looked pretty good, and no commercials was even better!

If they don't find a way around that like they did with the commercials on DVD. Well... Not exactly did they do that.. But some irritating flashes like A-Film and stuff like that.. *-*
