Default This Is The End

First Teaser for Evan Goldberg and Seth Rogen's This is the End

Quote:
In case the world does actually end tomorrow, Columbia Pictures has released this teaser clip for Evan Goldberg and Seth Rogen's This is the End. The comedy, opening in theaters on June 14, stars Rogen, Jay Baruchel, James Franco, Craig Robinson, Danny McBride and Jonah Hill.

This is the End follows six friends trapped in a house after a series of strange and catastrophic events devastate Los Angeles. As the world unravels outside, dwindling supplies and cabin fever threaten to tear apart the friendships inside. Once they discover that they are experiencing the Apocalypse, they must come to terms with why they were left behind. Eventually they are forced to leave the house, facing their fate and the true meaning of friendship and redemption.

I find these guys movies funny and this sounds like a great premise for them.

Interesting to see how this evolved from "Jay and Seth vs. The Apocalypse" to "This is the End". I hope Emma Watson is just a cameo. Even though I like her, I just want it to stick with the core group.

I'm pretty sure there is an old thread for this. I remember discussing it before, but I am excited to see the trailer. These are the best guys of comedy, and they always make great stuff when they get together!

edit: oh, my God. It is AMAZING. The ribbing on each other is fantastic. Does anyone know if Cera and Segel are actually in it? I'm assuming they die at the actual party? As long we get cameos from them, I'm good.

edit 2: Apparently, there are a ton of cameos (I'm assuming Cera and Segel did film a scene along with many others) and that Rihanna and Emma Watson along with Seth Rogen, Jonah Hill, Craig Robinson, James Franco and Jay Baruchel all get a lead billing.

Hilarious. I thought the original title was The End of the World?

And yeah, it's 8:54 AM Dec 21, 2012 here. Still no sign of the end of the world.

Or maybe it will be Mayan time zone?

I quite like the premise, but it's the kind of thing that might get real boring real fast -- there's only so many jokes you can make at the expense of another actor before the well runs dry.

Interesting that they're doing it in the "real actors" sense and not in character, though.

And it's 1 a.m. here in the UK with no sign of fiery comets raining down from the sky, so it's safe to assume we're all good

A few editing room fixes and I might consider watching it.

If you've ever listened to a commentary for a Judd Apatow movie (Superbad, Knocked Up) where these guys make jokes at each others expense, then you know that this will be hilarious. I think it'll be fine. Rogen haters will hate it. But fans of Rogen and the average folk will definitely find this funny. The premise is good, the cast is great (like I said, their interaction is priceless because of how seamless their chemistry is), and it's Emma Watson in it...

So... wait... are they actually playing THEMSELVES in this film? That clip has them all using their real names! THAT WOULD BE PURE AWESOME IN AND OF ITSELF!

Seriously though, it does look like it could be pretty funny.

Yes, everyone in the film is playing themselves. There is a party at James Franco's house and then terrible events take place

He makes them watch Soider-Man 3? Could be worse. It could be at his brother's place and he could make them sit through his entire season of Scrubs.

I wouldn't plan on much of the written dialogue being in the movie

He made them watch 127 hours in one sitting with no breaks and no snacks.
