I really don't understand the point of picking single titles to compare format sales (especially Happy Feet) when we get videoscan numbers every week.

Well Videoscan will show discs sold so the HD camp is saying because their studios were in a lull period, their sales will be lower and BR isn't really doing better. By comparing titles released on both formats at the same time, we get a better idea of which one is truly growing faster.

If the HD argument were true, then we should expect to see the sales gap narrow in July when HD will have a lot or releases. I don't think this will happen because on per title basis, BR seems to have a growing consumer base while HD-DVD seems to have a mostly stagnant base.

There was also an argument from the HD-DVD fanboi's that as nearly all Blu-ray players were PS3 the sales of happy feet would be poor on Blu-ray (as the assumed demographic of the PS3 is not interested in that sort of title) so therefore any studio releasing the genre of movie should release onto HD-DVD - I guess mainly aimed at Disney. The results seem to be about equal, so there are a lot of PS3's not fitting the demographic or many more Blu-ray players out there. What ever the argument - it looks they will be off to find another way to twist the numbers.
