Wow they already want a new one. How many 360 version did those idiots release already. Now they probably figured why key fixing the problems, lets just trash it and make a new one. Greed, Greed Greed. They released a subpar console only to cash in before the PS3 and they didn't even make money on it. I own a 360, or should I say two because they had to replace it after the three rings of death. They want to control everything. Here's an idea......focus on one thing and make it a good product...ie vista and the 360.

They helped Toshiba with HD-DVD to try to cause a stalemate in the format war, now they're pushing downloads. They give Blu-Ray owners not much of a reason to like them. |

Yes, but for the main games (Warhawk, etc), they also have a hard copy available via BD. MS appears to be leaving downloads as the only option. Although, if LittleBigPlanet doesn't have a BD Copy of it available (Heard that it will be downloadable), then my view regarding Sony and downloads may change rather negatively.

look i own both formats and both consoles. now why do you believe they tried to cause a stalemate? same could be said for the bda against the hd dvd tribe. microsoft just chose to be part of the losing side, they poured money into hd dvd just as sony has into blu ray. one side had to lose, does not mean that microsoft wanted to cause a stalemate at all

I would not exactly call a company that makes billions of dollars dumb. They are doing something right somewhere. However, I do think they do rush themselves a bit too much due to competion and they are bullies and greedy. They should actually do more research and testing. This will keep them form making EPIC mistakes like the XBOX 360 RROD problem. IF they actually did the time for R&D and launched around the time pf PS3 and Wii, their machine would be more of a beast to contend with and there would not be any of this 3 year extended warranty crap.
Basically, they should be more pro-active than re-active. |

Digital downloads aren't the devil. I know a lot of you guys are worried about this, but ask yourselves would you let digital downloads replace something you physicaly own such as a dvd or blu-ray or laserdisc. The asnwer is no. I don't think anyone on this board would say they would give up their physical discs for a download. I don't think most consumers would. It just becomes to combersome and and the risk of losing data is too high. we buy new computers every 5 years or so and end up losing most of our information when we transition and the issues with transfering copyrighted digital media are insane.
At most digital downloands will be regulated to a renters market, or as seen in hitman and some other fox movies and added bonus for a few bucks more added to a physical purchase. I am not even going to go into the broadband limits and such because in a few years that will be resolved but even then everything else is going to have to catch up. No one wants semi-hi def movies and 50gbs of storage for each movie when you own hundreds is unrealistic. |

downloads do not just have to entail movie downloads. fact is this. companies will do what the masses want as thats how they will make their money. They will look to see where the market is going and companies will jump on that bandwagon. Lets say the new xbox relies totally on digital downloads and it is a huge success, you can bet your bottom dollar other companies will start doing the same. the fact that sony has a store where you can buy digital products already suggests to me that they are keeping their options open for possible future developments

I just can't see a game console without physical media succeeding at this point in time. |

then the same can be said for all other companies that chose to jump on the hd dvd bandwagon. why would the other companies who rely on hard media sales (like dvds) join the group with the all powerful microsoft if they thought all ms wanted to do was kill off physical media?

Now I am not going to attack the ps3 because a) I will probably own one some day and b) I think competition is a great thing. But this poster is just not right in his thinking. I know the xbox has had a few systems but come on. This is the pot calling the kettle black. How many different versions of the ps3 have their been was it 20/40/60/80 gig versions and then all sorts of versions with or without ps2 backwards compatibility. |

Bill Gates just ripped off Steve Jobs by making Windows. Apple OS's were out before Windows OS's. The only reason windows ever took off was because of the cheaper price and advertising. Just like the X-Box, 360, and 720 (???) was. He also ripped off apple with the zune, and the oragami. Microsoft hasnt done a single good thing for the world, nor will they ever. I vote them worst company ever. Ill never buy any microsoft thing... ever. My copy of XP is illegal, and Vista is a piece of crap (and also ripped off OSX in every way possible - yet still sucking in multiple ways). I hate microsoft... You know maybe I am wrong but aren't lower prices a good thing? If microsoft stayed out of these markets and didn't drive competition we would be fleeced by companies making insane profits. Competition drives development and lowers prices. I for one am glad to be buying a computer for sub 500 dollars and constantly getting new and improved items because companies need to constantly update their products to keep me as a costumer. Just saying.
