A New Low (Rumor)

This is to be confirmed, but an anonymous poster on a game forum has posted that the Famitsu numbers for last week would be as follow:

Xbox 360 - 6000 units
PS3 - 4800 units

No surprise on the 360 level, it's still going down after their exclu "Infinite Undiscovery". As far as Japan goes, their pice dump has had little to no effect.

But the PS3 ? Wth ?

In fact, I know why we are hitting these new lows, but seriously, with The Last Remnant arriving on Nov 20th, it's like SCEJ is doing everything they can to give market shares to MS.
Seems to me that Sony has bet the whole end of year (in Japan at least) on LBP, Oct. 30th in Japan.

Now, about the reason of this drop over two weeks (from an avrage 8-9k units to a 5k and less): how wise was it to announce the new 80gb Bundles a whole month (or more) before they would be available?

I don't know, but after giving away the month of Spetember on their home turf, Sony is getting ready to hand away October as well.

The amount and type of releases of exclusives on the PS3 in Japan (some would argue in the whole world) for the past three months has been abysmal to top it off.

My question now is - how wise is it really to keep all your eggs (games) for the same period? I don't know, it seems kinda counter productive to me, but hey, what do I know?

I only fear at this point that 2008, which was supposed to be "The Year of The PS3", is transforming into "The year where the PS3 got its rear end handed to itself by the Xbox 360 on its home turf". Slightly disheartening to be honest.
