Is it just me or does this film look dated already?

Mindless action? I'm in. Definitely a must-see for me.

Good point, though if done well I can live with it. I can also see Butler as Mitch Rapp.

They should have just made this a Die Hard/Air Force One crossover flick. Just imagine it. John McClane is taking a tour of the White House, Jack McClane is now working Secret Service, and terrorists take over the White House. Now it's up to John McClane and his son to rescue and then team up with the President(played by Harrison Ford) and take these ****ers down. Essentially giving us one of the greatest Action movies ever made. Or one of the stupidest movies ever made. I'd watch it either way.

I'm actually looking forward to this because it was filmed down the road from my house. It was near seeing them build the replica of the White House and watch them film. Battle: Los Angeles was the same way. They filmed that in the hangar I worked in so it was neat seeing those things.

I like what I saw and I'm interested. Antoine Fuqua has only disappointed me once, and this doesn't look like it will be the second. Sure, it won't be the best action movie of the year, but it looks to be entertaining to me and has a pretty good cast.

When I first saw the news, I thought, is this what they're gonna call the God of War movie? Ah well...

You're not the only one, Butler was Flynn's choice to be Rapp when they tried to make Consent to Kill

I see the Die Hard references everyone's talking about, but I see Under Seige way more...Butler's character (an ex-presidential detail agent) is identical to Seagal/Ryback (an ex-SeAL), the USS Missouri is substituted for the White House, and Tommy Lee Jones' terrorist 'music band' is represented by a 'visiting dignitary'. They really just changed actors and venues. I'll still watch it, and probably enjoy it; but it amazes me that Hollywood keeps recycling plots/storylines...

Might be ok. I loved Shooter but the CG effects for this looks terrible.

Looks pretty good for a fun action film. I'll probably check it out.

I was just about to say the same thing. Looks like a good turn-off-your-brain movie. Glad to see Gerard Butler back to making action movies. His little venture into Romantic Comedies needs to be forgotten.

I think I will give this movie a chance once I saw Morgan Freeman as the Speaker of the House who becomes acting President. With Morgan, it can't be that bad, can it? Does sound like Die Hard 6 though. Should have John McCane teaming up with Jack Bauer to protect the White House.

This movie looks awesome. Shooter is one of my favorite movies so since it is the same director this might be good too.

It does. The trailer was woefully boring. Morgan Freeman looks like he's sleeping through this role with the dialogue he had in it. /pass
