Mike, you don't have to play illegal files.

The extensive DRM has slowed down Vista a lot.

Anyway, I'll drop it so people can stay on topic.

Thats good because I don't know whaty youre talking about!

I am just trying to find out why Dell will not put Blu Ray in Desktop Machines... with Vista... They have it in their Laptop now.. nothing on the XPS desktop front...

I dont play any files that arent from the store, and dont know or care about DRM stuff.

Default Dell Toying

So Now Dell is Toying....

It seems they FINALLY have tessted and let you customize the top of the line XPS 710 with VISTA! Wowwee.. STILl no BLU RAY DRIVE!

HOWEVER, it appers Blu Ray is finally on the horizon for the DELL XPS 410.

You can search for Blu Ray on Dells website, and it brings up the 410.

You click customize and see in the dexriptor screens them talking abotu blu ray.

You go to customize the machine and when you get to Optical drive you see a picture of BLU RAY drive and dexcriptor ont he left.

BUT NO BLU RAY DRIVE to choose as an option!

Well.... I think we may FINALLY be getting close to the Dell Desktop with Blu Ray..... Or someone really messed up ther website!

Smile The END IS HERE FINALLY!!!

After 3 and a half months DELL FINALLY has made available on it's website a XPS 410 Desktop Computer WITH Vista AND 2x Blu Ray!

This is ONLY available if you go to purchase then to the XPS configuration then click on the BANNER (there is no configuration listed with the regular configurations... probably because the Banner configures some things like a high yeild video card and good processing automatically to support blu ray without giving you choice.

Finally it is here.

Thank you Dell. My order is coming and I rest my case!

Mike

Default Blu-Ray works fine on Vista loaded Dell M1710

I just received a Dell M1710 notebook with the built-in Matshuita UJ-210 BD-RE drive. It came with Cyberlink PowerDVD-DX version 7.0.0.1109. The drive works beautifully. I have played commercial Blu-Ray titles, BDAV projects, with menus, created on BD-R and BD-RE with Roxio DVDit Pro HD. I have even played short BDAV projects burned to DVD+R media using the technique described here:

http://forums.support.roxio.com/inde...howtopic=21074

Soon I'll try some burning, including to BD-RE dual layer (50GB). For burning it comes with "Roxio Creator DE" verson 9.
