BBC's "Orphan Black" (Season 5)

Did anybody catch this new show on BBC America last night after Dr. Who? It was a great pilot episode. I like the concept. It is worth checking out, if you didn't.

It's actually Orphan Black.

It was pretty meh. Did not like Felix at all. Too many gay stereotypes. I honestly don't have high hopes for it but its hard to tell from one episode. I'll give the next episode a shot.

Oops, my Dyslexia kicked in. I thought his character was humorous though. Did some reading on the show and it looks like a pretty cool synopsis.

I read that this episode was supposed to be just an introduction to the characters and that the cool sci fi, horror aspects will come in the next few episodes. That's why I'm giving it a chance.

Yeah, did not like it at all. Except for... and I hate being that guy..but the other actor in it with the equally forgettable name is incredibly attractive

On the surface it does sound good, maybe the execution is what didn't work... maybe, like you say, it needs time.

Tatiana Maslany is smokin too. That scene in the kitchen? Yowza! lol.

Yeah, him. He got a huge oh-my-gosh-I-have-to-watch-this-every-week reaction from me, which doesn't happen often..so I'm not afraid to admit.

The pilot intrigued me enough to keep watching, one thing I really hate is BBC America is only available in SD on u-verse in my area. I'm starting to hate u-verse, never thought I would miss Comcast.

I will be canceling my series setting on my dvr, since the blu-ray has been tentatively announced for a July 16th release.

I expected this show to have a HUGE thread. I marathon watched the first 7 episodes this weekend and couldn't love it more. My wife loved it too. Can't wait to finish up season 1 and wait for season 2.

I'm officially a BBC fan now (this is my first show of theirs)

Me 2, I luv this show as well, but the wait 4 me 4 season 2 is toooo loooong(next spring, ugh).

It took me a few episodes 2 catch on, but boy am I glad I patiently kept watching!!! The chemistry is so good among all the actors! I especially enjoy Sarah, beautiful(& all her sisters, haha) w/her bro, also that precious little girl, so darling.

The BBC is fantastic(along w/PBS), I've found so many good shows like Mr. Selfridge, DCI: Banks, Wallander, The Bletchley Circle, Call the Midwife(I luv these GEMS!!!) & on & on.
Consequently, I have purchased several bds & dvds from these & other shows!

Currently I am DVRing Masterpiece Mystery! "Inspector Lewis, Series V: "Fearful Symmetry". Looking 4ward 2 seeing this since I have not caught a Inspector Lewis show, which is on my local PBS Station!!

I will continue 2 seek out these classy shows on these stations-Highly Recommended!!!

I started watching the pilot, but was turned off from Felix (who annoyed the hell out of me) and from the shock of characters with non-American accents (forgot it was a BBC show) but then many people told me to keep watching so I started up again a few weeks ago. Enjoyed the finale. I hope she gets some Emmy or Golden Globe love

It is a BBC America show... but why would non-American accents turn you off to watching something?

I watched it from the beginning, and was largely unimpressed with the early episodes. I found it difficult to care for any of the characters, and the sf/mystery plot was too vague to be compelling. I really couldn't understand why so many people were thinking it was the greatest thing since swiss cheese.

To be honest, I still can't. But I have to admit that once the story arc started taking off in earnest, I was sucked in. Still, for me the high point is Tatiana Maslany. Not for her looks (though she is very good looking indeed), but for her uncanny ability to not only play several different personalities, but to play them off each other! When Sarah, Allison, and Cosima are in the same scene together, it's almost impossible to believe that they aren't acting triplets rather than one person doing all three performances. I can't imagine how long it takes to block and shoot an episode when they have to shoot the same scene three times (at least).

She is undoubtably the best thing about this show. I hope she gets the recognition she deserves.
