USA Sexy Beast (2000) (Limited to 3,000 Copies)

Pre-order http://www.screenarchives.com/title_...XY-BEAST-2000/

Quote:
The film will be presented in both 2.35:1 and 1.78:1 ratios, and the extras include an isolated score track, production featurette, and an audio commentary with Sir Ben Kingsley and Jeremy Thomas.
Quote:
Sexy Beast is a 2000 Anglo-Spanish crime drama film directed by Jonathan Glazer and starring Ray Winstone, Ben Kingsley and Ian McShane. Produced by Jeremy Thomas, it was Glazer's debut feature film, who had previously directed music videos and commercials for companies such as Guinness and Levi.

The film earned Kingsley an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actor. In 2004 the magazine Total Film named Sexy Beast the 15th greatest British film of all time.

Ben Kingsley is amazing in this. Probably the most abrasive character I've ever seen performed. Shut up and take my money TT.

Amazing film, hopefully The Limey sees a release in the not too distant future as well.

Another disappointing announcement, a shame, as this is one of my favorite movies.

If it has the commentary and the picture is better than the UK release I may bite.

This statement doesn't make any sense, if it's one of your favorites, then is the extra cost associated with their releases really that much of a deal breaker

I know others feel differently, but I no longer have any real interest in supporting Twilight Time, especially with contemporary releases.

I am also taking a look at their forthcoming release schedule and finding it difficult to believe that many of these contemporary movies are a good fit for them.

I think there's a good possibility that the reason that most of their releases this year are from the 1970's up is probably to make up for some of those pre-70's titles that they put out in the past that didnt' sell well (Swamp Water, Rapture, The Wayward Bus, Roots of Heaven, Desiree, etc.....).

I know how you feel, while I'm not exactly thrilled about their pricing structure, I would jump at ANY opportunity if they were releasing a film that I love & would otherwise never see a blu release for. However in this particular case, I'm sure there will be a release in other countries anyway (same with Body Double)

I haven't seen this movie either, but it seems pretty interesting. I may give it a shot.

I have it on DVD, and I've only seen it once a long time ago. From what I recall, It was pretty good, but definitely not as good as others from the genre. I'll have to watch it again to see if I feel the same way now.

It's good, probably one of the best films of 2000's. If you like crime films, it's a blind buy no brainer as long as you're willing to go the Twilight Time/Screen Archives entertainment route.

I like crime films well enough. It's more about the movie than the genre for me, for the most part.

The Twilight Time route isn't a problem for me. Sure, I'd like to pay less, but I'm not going to complain about it. I've bought two of their releases when they came out earlier in the year (Experiment in Terror and Our Man Flint), and I'm buying at least three more at some point. Buying multiple titles in one order is the way to go.

Well then, if you like good films, it's a no brainer.

I don't know. Some people would disagree with some of the films in my collection.

Seriously though, if I do end up getting it, it might not be right away so I can order more movies with it. That is unless I decide to get Body Double too.

Yeah that'd probably be the best way to buy it, save on the shipping.

If it doesn't sell out and reviews are great, I'll pick this up, otherwise I'm content with my UK blu release.
