Default Doctor Who: The Complete Seventh Series - 2013 - Pre-order

Doctor Who: The Complete Seventh Series Blu-ray
Doctor Who: The Complete Seventh Series Pre-order

Quote:
BBC Home Entertainment has announced and detailed the Blu-ray release of Doctor Who: The Complete Seventh Series, a set that features all 13 Series Seven episodes, both the 2011 and 2012 Doctor Who Christmas specials ("The Doctor, The Widow & The Wardrobe" and "The Snowmen"), and numerous extras including commentaries, behind-the-scenes bonus content and more. The Complete Seventh Series streets on September 24th.

Official Synopsis: Matt Smith returns as the Eleventh Doctor faces new monsters and familiar foes like you've never seen them before. The first part of this series sees the Ponds (Karen Gillan and Arthur Darvill) in their final voyage with The Doctor. They save a spaceship full of dinosaurs, don Stetsons in the Wild West and are even kidnapped by the Doctor's oldest foe. But when they arrive in Manhattan, the Weeping Angels are waiting.

Christmas brings with it a new companion for The Doctor named Clara (Jenna-Louise Coleman). But how, where and when will he meet her again? And how does this Impossible Girl defy death? The final eight episodes of Series Seven finds The Doctor and his new companion battling monsters on distant alien planets, trapped on a Russian submarine with a deadly passenger, chasing terrifying ghosts, and coming face to face with an army of upgraded Cybermen, all while The Doctor's oldest secret threatens to be revealed.

The Complete Seventh Series includes the following episodes and specials: "The Doctor, The Widow & The Wardrobe" (2011 Christmas Special), "Asylum of the Daleks," "Dinosaurs on a Spaceship," "A Town Called Mercy," "The Power of Three," "The Angels Take Manhattan," "The Snowmen" (2012 Christmas Special), "The Bells of Saint John," "The Rings of Akhaten," "Cold War," "Hide," "Journey to the Center of the TARDIS," "The Crimson Horror," "Nightmare in Silver" and "The Name of the Doctor."

Special features include:
  • Audio Commentaries
  • Behind the Scenes Featurettes
  • Episode Prequels
  • Doctor Who on The Nerdist
  • Doctor Who in the U.S.
  • Last Days of the Ponds
  • Pond Life
  • The Science of Doctor Who
  • The Companions
  • Doctor Who at Comic Con

"Daleks? Dinosaurs on a spaceship? Interstellar cowboys? The longawaited, much talked-about seventh series features five episodes and a wild array of new thrills-and dangers. While the eleventh Doctor continues his time-travelling adventures, it's the final farewell for Amy and Rory."

Just like to point out that those 5 episodes only make up roughly 1/2 the season. We still have another 5 to 7 to go before it ends.
We'll likely have 12 episodes by the time the season ends.

Actually 15 episodes, if you count the 2011 & 2012 Christmas specials.

I'm sure they'll update the synopsis at some point, especially since according to Entertainment Weekly's cover story
[Show spoiler]Amy is still on the show.

Agreed. Bells of St Jude was really disappointing for me. I've watched most of Dr Who on Netflix & really found this "midseason premiere" to be quite ho-hum. (Something that I considered to be all the more unfortunate given the fact that I chose to preorder the "1/2 season" from iTunes).
Also the "next time" clip at the end was additionally less than promising.

If anyone is avoiding upcoming season news- beware spoiler. I wonder how long til there is
[Show spoiler]a complete Matt Smith collection, and how cool it will be. I try to sell my individual releases early enough to get complete sets on the cheap but I'm not 100% on whether or not there will be one. Hmmm.

Added the press release to the OP. September 24 is the release date.

A loaded set like always.

Can't wait for the UK announcement of the full season 33 boxset.
(Yes, I use the older season numbering system. Judge if you wish, as I couldn't care less. Been a Doctor Who fan since I were born, so deal with it, lol)

So glad that I held off from buying the stupid half season boxsets!

This just popped up on the website today: https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Docto...Blu-ray/78537/
Now I'm wondering why they are putting series 1-4 on blu-ray, unless if they were filmed on film and we don't know it! I thought they were filmed on video in standard definition, I just hope they release them individually on blu-ray eventually!

EDIT: Here is the link to the thread for it: https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread...14#post7840514

They were filmed on video. In the Complete Specials Blu-Ray set, The Next Doctor was an upconvert (they didn't switch to HD until Planet of the Dead). Seasons 1-4 in that set will all be upconverts.

Default Winter sale?

Last December, BB had a fantastic sale on Complete Season 5 & 6 sets -- I'm hoping for a repeat this year! Geronimo!

I took advantage of that last year, $20 a piece was an awesome deal! I doubt that the 7th Series will be discounted at that price, but I wouldn't mind it being $30-$40! I guess we will just have to see!

Cool Series 7 (exclusive) early release 8-4-13

Shop around at that site where the home office is in Arkansas and you'll find a release date of 8-4-13 for pre-order of series 7 on blu-ray.
That's six weeks earlier than anyone else.
