Default Fan Film Theories

Well, I wasn't too sure where to put this thread but I thought it'd be interesting to see if anyone else is as interested in others' theories about film as I am. I love reading theories about whatever film - about what it could be about or represent or whatever.
Now, I know some people might see this thread or read some theories and think they're 'looking too much into it' or 'that's not what the director intended it to be', but I just wanna see people's interesting theories in regards to whatever films.
I have a theory that the 1986 film The Hitcher is a film about a man coming to terms with his sexuality - much like the theory about NOES2, so what about you guys/girls?
Got any fun/interesting theories in regards to your favourite films?

I came across a book by a very Christan woman who said Die Hard was about John McClaine suffering for masculinity (I know the film was about John reclaiming his masculinity, but this lady read it as him actually being tortured for all of men's wrong doings).

You also have the crazy Alien theory from Punch Drunk Love, where Emily Watson is in fact an extra terrestrial sent down from space to try and learn from humans. That's completely bonkers, but was actually going to be some Sci-fi set pieces in the film, that were thrown away at the planning stages of the film.

Then you've got Ferris Bueller's Day Off mixed with Fight Club, where Ferris Bueller and his girlfriend is actually a figment of Cameron's imagination, being everything Cameron isn't (fun and popular, which explains all the larger than life stuff around Ferris Bueller) and in the end allowing him to come to terms to stand up to his Dad, so he leaves the two of them to get their happy ending.

I love the theory that Drag Me To Hell is about a woman suffering from an eating disorder.

Probably doesn't count as fan theory, but I remember, during all the "Ooh, a twist ending!" attention over The Sixth Sense, M. Night Shyamalan supposedly picked up his award at the Golden Globes (where they serve drinks), and said "Oh, btw,
[Show spoiler]the mom was dead too
!"

...Oh, M, she was not, that's just NUTS.

Well this isn't a movie, but the television show Ed, Edd, and Eddy has some weird theories attached to it like that the show is set in Purgatory and that the characters signify the seven deadly sins. Very strange.

Eh, they said that about Gilligan's Island, too. Didn't work.

This is an interesting one for sure

I have read the one about Rugrats before as well.

How about the majority of Steven Spielberg's War Of The Worlds being a metaphorical nightmare from Tom Cruise's perspective? From the point he falls asleep roughly 15 minutes in, the rest of the film is a nightmare induced from his absentee parent anxieties.

I read a whole lot of interpretations regarding The Fountain. Those were quite interesting.

Speaking of goofy deconstruction, The Music Box is showing Room 237 this week and I'm half-tempted to check it out.

I'm not really a huge fan of The Shining (I love Kubrick and like The Shining just fine, I just don't love it) and as a rule I'm even less a fan of extreme 'Bewitched was a Vietnam allegory' deconstruction buuuuuut there's something about the way serious filmmakers and internet goofballs intersect over this film that's kind of interesting.

Probably not interesting enough to actually get me off my couch but still...

Fan film theories can be interesting at times but most of the time they're just stupid. Simple as that.

Doesn't this go further?

[Show spoiler]The fight with Tony Rocky Horror and the bandage on the back of his neck have something to do with it too, I thought...

And someone told me in a special feature Quentin Tarantino said
[Show spoiler]it was whatever you want it to be
. Dunno, I never watch those special features disks.
