Default Oh! The Ignorance

So my housemates friend unexepcadetly shows up yesterday because its his spring break. Now I'm not a big fan of my housemate already, kind of trashy, but his friend takes the cake. Total piece of ignorant trash. Just to give you an impression of the type of person this is, the house now smells of smoke, he has no regard that some people don't like the smell of cigarettes and I asked him to go outside, but he and my housemate laughed it off and said something about a restaruant they used to work at, he stayed up til 3 A.M. drinking and carrying on with his friend when I had an econ test at 9 this morning even after I told them to shut up, and he will just pull out his cell phone and start talking loudly when other people are trying to study, watch TV (when he isn't watching it), etc., but has the nerve to come in my room and tell me to quiet down when I'm talking to my dad because he was watching Buffy.

Now backtrack 24 hours he shows up comes inside, while I'm playing HSG5 and asks if we can watch Buffy. Being a nice guy I say sure, go ahead. In the past 24 hours, he has watched at least 12 episodes of Buffy. He has completely hogged my HDTV, but thats not the worst of it. Like I said, he is an ignorant MoFo. We sit down to watch the first episode and my HDTV, set to "just scan," displays Buffy in its native 4:3 aspect ratio. The first thing he said is, "why doesn't this take up the whole screen." so i explained to him that its a 4:3 aspect ratio and the Widescreen. He then tells me that my HDTV is crap and that his at home will plays these same DVDs in widescreen. I tell him that my HDTV can do that to, however when you make a 4:3 image into a 16:9 one, you are either going to distort the image or cut off some of the image. So i cycled through the different display modes and showed him how it looked like crap. Of course he sits there and says the 4:3 formated Standard DVD looks better distorted to 16:9 and follows up with "you're right though it does look kind of funny on your TV". I know for a fact he couldn't afford a HDTV as nice as mine and I'm 95% sure he doesn't even have one (I didn't see one when I went to his run-down sh1tty house this summer, cause my housemate wanted to have me meet him) Im prety just a jealous @-hole who is trying to insult me, cause I have nice things and he doesn't...cause he spends all his money on cigarettes and now my house smells.

Sorry for the rant, its just pissing me off. He's gone tommorw, thank the lord.

And yes I tried watching a BD with him, he just wants to watch Buffy.

I've known a few Buffy fanatics (one chick even re-named herself Faith )
They seem to be a bit pompous and elitist from what I've seen. Oh, and they get jealous when you have nice stuff.
Tell him BD could beat up Buffy.

You are in a "just between" stage which will pass. Someday you will have your own place and can choose your favorite morons (good buddies) to come over and enjoy buffy on BD!

Sometimes we need this just to show how bad it really can be and to thank God you are not like him!

Dude, there are a lot of them. I wouldn't be surprised if the male fans outnumber the female fans.

Haha dude I know EXACTLY how you feel. I went through the same scenario one summer, and to top it off, at the end of the summer the guy stole over $300 from me and denied it to the bitter end. Moral of the story is, I never let anyone use me anymore, once is enough, and you would think since I gave the guy a place to live for the summer he might have given me the respect of not rippin g me off.

It would be the opposite. If you would take a good look around the internet, you may be surprised to see how big the fanbase is. They even have conventions.

Did you talk to the weapon while you're cleaning it? Kind'a like Private Pyle, "Seven-six-two milimeter.... full Metal Jacket.!"

Of course you'd probably be saying five-five-six or two-two-three. That would be a riot to see their faces.
