Cool Resume Play and Mosquito Noise Reduction

I am still getting used to the settings, I was wondering if somebody could let me know how I go about turning the resume play and the Mosquito Noise Reduction ON.

Thanks in advance for ALL the help.

Resume play just works if you stop (using STOP button) and later reload a compatible disk. All DVD's I think and some (not BD-J) BD's.

The mosquito noise pics look great. Does anyone have any pics showing the effect of the block and frame noise reduction? I cannot see a difference when these are off or at 3.

After trying several BDs I noticed how to tell if resume play will work or not (pretty sure anyway, test away). I don't set my PS3 to autoplay. When I highlight the BD option to play the movie, if the icon is a generic BD disc-pic icon, the blu-ray is not BD-J and resume play will work. If the icon is a custom picture from the movie (and selecting play shows a custom loading bar icon) then the blu is BD-J and resume play won't work. Sorry if this is redundant info, couldn't find it searching...

Thanks for the post Shin-Ra.....you should post that over on the AVS Forum. There is a guy over there that keeps insisting that MNR makes the PQ too soft.
MNR has definatley improved the PQ.....gives sddvd a film like quality.Nothing like BR...but now I can watch most sddvd's without being distracted by the poor PQ.

I'm sure the MNR applies better to 'simple' picture types like anime and portions of the picture like text in the example. With a live-action movie it's harder to differentiate and smooth over MN without blurring the larger amount of random detail that the MN is clinging to.

Depending on the type of movie you're watching, you may need to adjust the MNR setting accordingly.
