Fantasy involves a subject that could never happen under any circumstances. E.T. and Star Trek is science fiction as it is possible, though extremely improbable. Star Wars is fantasy. |

E.T. has elements of sci-fi and fantasy to it as it's categorized on Wiki and IMDB with both genres. Star Wars combines both elements as well. There are such things as hybrid films.
Who thinks The Wizard of Oz looks excellent on high def for a 73 year old film? nice to see Warner treat their classics with respect. You've never seen the Yellow Brick Road look brighter including the Witch's skin more greener. Phantasm II with the whole franchise are mixes of sci-fi, fantasy and horror put together. Scream did a superb job of improving over the grainy bareboned Universal DVD alltogether. Willow has one of the best picture qualities for a 25 year old film thanks to Lucasfilm as they did an excellent restoration on that film. People can own both the DVD (just for the extras not on the blu-ray) and the blu-ray for the solid picture quality and new extras galore. The Dark crystal on HD is one of the best looking picture qualities for a 31 year old film thanks to Jim Henson Company restoration as detail is the name of the game with stuff you never seen or heard before especially the Garthaim with the crystal itself looking more colorful and sharper than ever, should please videophiles and audiophiles. |

Given the age of the film, I think that Twilight Time's release of MYSTERIOUS ISLAND (1961) is very good indeed.
