Tom Cruise always gives 100% in his movies and is always surrounding himself with quality talent in front of and behind the camera. He's pretty much worked with all the biggest directors in the industry today except for Nolan, Bay and Eastwood. So even if the film ends up underwhelming, there's still usually a lot going for it. You'll never see Cruise in Grown Ups or Twilight or Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen or Meet the Spartans.

Agreed, which is why he's one of my favourite actors. I respect actors who put a 110% in their films and go the extra mile to make sure the audience is entertained and convinced i.e. Tom Cruise doing the skyscraper climb in M:I:GP.
