That's weird, because the poster art work for this has him stitched up like he has been since Bride of Chucky.

I don't think a DTV release for a sequel in this series is a bad idea, as long as it's not a rushed sequel just to keep the rights like the latest Hellraiser sequel was. Hopefully the rest of the Child's Play series gets released around this time, too.

I thought the hype was all on a REBOOT of the franchise.

Hopefully (in 3 months) it'll atleast be a movie that goes back to the HORROR roots of Chucky 1 and 2, and leaves the comedy of chuck 3-78 behind...

Personally, I absolutely loved Bride of Chucky. Thought the tone was perfect for the fourth entry in a killer doll series (which is inherently ludicrous). That said, Seed was disappointing, and I'm cool with them going back to the tone of the earlier movies for this one. I'll definitely check it out.

Yeah, this one acts as if Bride and Seed never happened. As much as I like Bride, I'm fine with that. It'd be nice to see Chucky actually try to be scary again.

Universal is reportedly planning them to Coincide with Curse's release.

I believe it takes place between 3 and Bride.
There is apparently a sizable amount of time in between those two.

I agree. "Bride of Chucky" is one of my favorite comedies ever, but it was a one time fluke that it ended up so funny/campy without over staying it's welcome. I can't even watch "Seed of Chuck"...

The original creator of the series seems pretty excited about this entry and he said that he only agreed to it after the studio allowed him to go back to the dark tone of the first film, and this could possibly not be the only DTV installment if it does well enough.

No love for Seed of Chucky I see. I thought it was funny as hell. Very goofy flick.

The new flick sounds like it will be fun.
