Default Latest format poll

The results are quite interesting as I know that Microsoft has several FP's at this pouplar site, and there not even hiding this fact.
FP = FUD Pimper.
Anyway, even with many months of constant Microsoft lies, hints and FUD against Blu Ray.....Blu Ray is leading the polls.

Now when I see it in the topic again...
Mmm.. And I still don't get it why the DVD forum voted for HD DVD to be the successor after they rejected AOD. =S Aren't most companies on the DVD forum behind Blu-ray Disc..? =S Bribery..? Or..?
Very wierd I think.

And it doesn't surprise me for Blu-ray to win the poll

That's what I'd always expect amongst a group of well informed individuals.

The BDA intentionally held it's format from the voting of the DVD Forum. Thus the best choice the DVD Forum had was HD DVD. No bribery at all. Their simply wasn't an option for the forum members to vote for BD.

Thanks for the link. I hadn't seen that thread yet. Just placed my vote. I'll keep it a secret though, I don't want to seem biased.

Deliberate omission of facts and information tends to be a hallmark of some of these HD-DVD supporters.

I wonder why that is?...

I thought that the DVD Forum had a vote when most of the BD supporters were absent. Changed some rules, and then voted with a lower required margin to adopt the HD DVD.

I am sure something like that happened...

Anyways I put my vote in at AVS. I can't believe people who will only buy HD DVD... that is just retarded It is both or BD as far as I am concerned...

Cheers!

Most forums are indicating about a 7 to 1 or greater margin for blu-ray support over HD-DVD. I am constantly amazed at the poor information coming out of the HD-DVD camp. The point towards the very nice, high-end $1,800 player as 'the only' player availabe, the point towards PS3 being irrelvant in the discussions. A point towards HD-DVD being significantly less expensive in player and disc cost to consumers...

All of it hasn't been really established... PS3 is rumored around the same price as the cheapest HD-DVD... oh, and it's a gaming system which won't go obsolete even if HD-DVD AND Blu-Ray fail for some reason.

I understand some people are chomping at the bit to get a HD disc player into their homes, but it would be like having $5,000 in your pocket so you run out and get a Yugo. It's just a very poor decision!

I'm actually not at all cool with the format war, but I will likely buy some Blu-Ray movies and plop them in my PS3 for playback. If it wasn't for the PS3, I would wait this format war out altogether.

My understanding is that the Blu-ray format was withheld as a voting option and that some of the members who were also BDA members abstained from voting on the choices that were offered.

I found this poll very unaccurate, as it only let me vote once, even though I will be buying a BD player,PS3 and BD drive based pc

Yep, the reason this poll is the exception, is be cause Microsoft employees are getting free reign to pimp FUD at AVS, and you can bet your bottom dollar that there having there employess also vote in that poll, who would normally not even vist an A/V site.

Default format poll

I for one won't be buying HD-DVD
If HD-discs is to replace regular DVDs then let there only be one type “Original aspect ratios" and not crappy modified

Wonder who else have stopped buying regular DVDS for much better videos

I quit a while ago. No sense cluttering up the shelf space when a new format is on the way.
