Have you missed any deals that you wished you had known about or if you held out until it was too late?
Most recently it was the Dirty Harry boxset which dropped to around £13 but I decided to wait a while and it went back up to £26 There was also the Superman Collection which I didn't get and now it seems OOP and is selling for around £50+ on amazon marketplace and eBay. |

Nothing I can really think of...
Certainly, there's been plenty of discs I've bought, that have tumbled in price, but nope, can't think of anything I've particularly missed out on. If I want something, I've probably bought it regardless of price, unfortunately. |

I've missed a bunch in the HMV sale, namely Colonel Blimp steelbook...
What else? Hara-Kiri remake for £2.49, and general Play.com bargains when they were selling off their stock at ridiculously low prices...then again I did get some bargains, including the original Harakiri (Kobayashi), Alice (Jan Svankmajer), Fear and Desire (Kubrick), North by Northwest (steelbook), House of the Devil, Donnie Darko (2-Disc), and Santa Sangre (Jodorowsky) all for under £7 each! Other good deals I have missed out on I've forgotten really...kinda reckon I've got some great deals over the past 6 months or so, but sometimes jump at the deal and find it goes for cheaper not soon after. That's more frustrating than missing a good deal! Probably the best deal of recent - getting Luck on blu-ray for £6.50-odd from ZavviOutlet on Play.com due to a probable mispricing. Also getting Blackthorn for about £2.50 in the recent HMV 10% voucher deal and blu-ray clearance was pretty good going. Last edited by rapta; 07-04-2013 at 11:02 PM. |

No they don't. What they normally do though is, as a good will gesture, let these kind of deals slide. I've got Hanniball for £13 too. I've had pre-orders where they've been cancelled by Amazon a few times, where the price difference is about 90% cheaper than it should be, or someone has put a decimal point in the wrong place. With this though, they're still getting £13 from us all, the mistake was corrected quickly minimising the loss, so they'll let it slide.

Jusuv22 is right, Amazon can cancel, however, i am sure they look at the circumstances of any price error before deciding to or not.

The Nightmare on Elm Street box set was being sold on Amazon for about £14.99 around Christmas time. It went back up in price after a few days and it's never been cheaper than that since then. I wouldn't mind getting for £17.99, but just know that Amazon would probably lower the price again, a week after I buy it.

But, as it's worth saying again because it's such a strong, mistaken belief that shops have to honour mispricings - Amazon do not have to honour them. |
