Fixing up B & W speaker box

Hi all. So sorry to weigh in with such a basic question, but couldnt find this on search. To all DIY-ers, how does one fix up an MDF speaker cabinet that has slightly ballooned in bottom, perhaps due to moisture seepage? Picked up a second hand pair of B & W black ash finish 604s and center, and they sound beautiful to my untrained ear. But one of the fronts has some slight waves along the side near the bottom corner, and the former owner admitted water may have seeped in when the units were in storage. He had a carpenter plane, calk and repaint the offending panel, but while the unit still seems structurally sound (actually, dont know how to check this, let alone, dismantle a 604), I dont like the result as the repair job is so obvious. The plastic frames at the bottoms of the fronts are also a bit chewed up, so thats another in my to-do list. Sadly, I am ashamed to say I have absolutely no DIY ability, so I will probably hire a workman to do the job, but would be great if I could give him some sort of template on how to do this. Any advice or info on websites to do a proper refinish? Cheers!

My best recommendation would be to contact B&W directly and see if replacement cabinets are available. If you're willing to go to the expense of having someone else fix them, I'd start with the manufacturer and see what they recommend first.

i agree with beta man, i would say that nothing could be done for a water damaged piece of mdf and your best hope is to ether contact b&w, leave it or maybe find a blown speaker on ebay and get it for the cab
