Default 'protected content' playback issue

I have a sony vaio ar670 running vista home premium with an nvidia 8600m gt card and a matshita BD-CMB UJ-120 drive. software is intervideo windvd-bd for vaio which has played all bd movies on the laptop perfectly so far. however, when i try to playback on my projector (hdcp compliant sanyo plv-z5) via hdmi, windvd blanks and i get an error message that 'my current display setup cannot play protected content'.

can anyone tell me what i'm doing wrong/need to do to rectify?

This guy had the same problem. Try disabling all your other video outputs on your vaio (if possible). If that doesn't work, then your HDMI output on the vaio may not support HDCP.

Either way, I say you're better off with a seperate BD player a la home theater variety.

HDCP is shit and the people who came up with and implemented it (and DRM) need to be shot imo.
