Hopefully before too much longer we will get something more definitive but Brad Fuller said on his Twitter that work on the sequel to the 2009 reboot will begin shortly apparently.

Yea that was what Platinum Dunes suggested. Hopefully this time it will have a better score and different director.

PD should get the director of 'Evil Dead' (2013), Fede Alvarez for F13th Part 2. That movie was brimming with atmosphere and great music.

Platinum Dunes aren't saying they are remaking the sequels. Part 2 is allegedly going to be set in the winter. That's new.

I just want two things. Fuller & Bay to keep their dumb ideas away from this movie, and STOP CASTING KNOWN ACTORS!!!!!!!!!!!

These movies work far better when they cast unknowns. But with Michael Bay producing, the lead simply must be some bad actress with fake jugs.

I'm all for a new Friday the 13th. Just make it good. Winter? Don't mind it.

Get a better set than Texas like the last movie used. They had the budget for a decent location too. What the hell were they thinking.

Setting this in winter is an incredible and unique idea, but I hope it isn't ruined by Platinum Dunes' music-video style approach to remaking horrors. If they bag a good director (maybe even a relatively unknown one) and work more on crafting a tense atmosphere, it has a shot of being great, and Lord knows we need more "great" entries in this series.

Agreed. As much as Hodder is #1, Mears is for the new generation.
