Default Frys Blu Ray section twice the size of HD DVD

I hadn't been to Fry's in about a month. Last time I was there the section were about even. But now they have opened up a second shelf for Blu Ray making it twice the size of HD DVD.

Do they have a wider selection of movies now or more copies of the same?

Most likely wider, since a bigger selection is available

The Fry's Electronics here in Atlanta has opened up a shelf on the front aisle in addition to the equal space set aside for Blu-ray and HD DVD. They also have a HDTV and a Samsung Blu-ray player at the top of that front aisle space playing Antz.

Edit: I said a BD have a additional shelf, but to be more accurate it's an additional section...not just a shelf. And the movie playing was The Ant Bully...not Antz.

bigger selection.

It used to be the same shelf space for both Blu and HD next to each other. Now the Blu section is twice as long

This Fry's has almost every Blu Ray movie. Some I didn't even know existed like the Space Shuttle documentary and Nature's Colors.

Yup, the Fry's here had 6 shelves each of BD and HD. Now the BD section is 9 shelves and the HD section is 3 shelves.

Great news for HDDVD!!

Frys anaheim has a HUGUNGOUS amount of blu-rays now, maybe 1/5th of that amount are available for hd-dvd. The blu-rays were all turned on their side except for a VERY few, and it was jam packed, in fact, while i was there, they were restocking blu-ray titles. About 7-8 different people were in the blu-ray section getting titles, 0 for hd-dvd. Looked very impressive, even for a die hard BD fan for myself.

Fry's Sunnyvale has recently doubled the BD shelf space also... It must have been fairly recent cos I go there often and yesterday was the first time I saw this!

Everywhere I go, all I see is Blu.

Recently my target replaced a "Nintendo Wii" kiosk with a fully working PS3 set up, people are always playing the PS3 and looking at the Blu-Ray section

At Circuit City, the Blu-Ray section is a nice little tower, but there is no HD-DVD, the employees say "we have a few in the back but not many', Circuit City can't even sell the players giving you 7 free movies, sodas, and a gift card!!!

And my Wal-Mart doesn't carry ANY hi def discs, except for some Blu-Rays in a little glass display window, but HD-DVD? They employees say they've never seen an HD-DVD disc, only HD Upconvert DVD players.

I think we all know who is winning thi...who won it already!

The Fry's Electronics in Dallas, near my house has a much bigger selection of Blu-Ray discs then, Best Buy, Circuit City, Target, or Wal-Mart.

They have about an equal number of HD-DVD's too. Also, Fry's Blu-Ray and HD-DVD's are about 5 dollars or more cheaper then their counterparts.

Typically many of the discs I have seen at the other stores are $24.99 or $29.99, or up to $34.99, for single discs. The lowest price I saw at Fry's was $19.99 The highest price I saw was $29.99, that is good.

I really don't buy Blu-Ray or HD-DVD's from Best Buy anymore, Not until they get a better selection and lower prices a little bit.

The one here in Atlanta(Duluth) seems to be about the seem shelf size. But the blu-rays seem to be more compacted in there because there are more of them!
