Default Size of the HD-DVD and Blu-ray discs

Blu-ray disc will be as big as the normal DVD disc we have today, right?

How big will the HD-DVD be? Even bigger than the normal DVD disc or smaller or just as big?

Thanx.

Yes MM,

along with the standard Blu-Ray disc, HD-DVD is the same size as a DVD (and CD - if you remember those ...). Consequently, it is expected (and intended) that the majority of Blu-Ray and HD-DVD machines will also be able to handle DVDs and CDs. Some are likely to also handle SACDs and DVDAs too!

Hope this helps

The only disc from today that I know bigger than all the DVDs, CDs & Blu-Rays is of course the HVD with 13 cm instead of the well known 12 cm size

There is also a standard set for an 8cm disk 15GB capacity, designed for the camcorder market - I don't think these will appear anytime soon, but the hardware released whenever hopefully sooner than later) will be able to play them, just like the current DVD & CD players can paly the 8cm disks.
