Default FedEx worker THROWS dozens of packages into a truck

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/arti..._campaign=1490

This is absolutely sickening! I'm sure FedEx isn't the only carrier to do this either. No wonder so many people get damaged packages.

I'm pretty sure UPS does the same thing. Most of my packages delivered from that carrier are half-crushed.

USPS > UPS > FedEx, IMO.

Being a former FedEx worker, (only 3 years here in PHX) I can tell you that they work you like a robot, not really caring about how much work you have. All they care about is that you get it delivered on time. There's just certain people who snap, and unfortunately, the customer receiving the package is who ultimately suffers.

i used to work at a the ups store and heard plenty of stories of how packages get damaged at the sort facility (or the hub, as it's usually called).

our driver always told us stories of how alot of the drivers would throw packages around like that. and how some packages would fall off the conveyor system and hit the ground hard and you could just hear the item shatter in the box. of course they would just take the box and put in back on the conveyor and send it on it's way.

this type of behavior happens at all companies, this person just happened to get caught on someone's camera. there are plenty of videos on youtube of fedex, ups and usps drivers doing the same thing.

Happens at all mail handling facility's imo, don't expect the box to get the hand delivered treatment from sending to the receiving end. I worked at a usps bulk mail plant when I was younger as a casualty employee hired under the x-mas time rush.

While the full time union backed employees mostly read the paper and shot the shit and maybe cleared out one truck tops a night, we would be worked to clear 5 to 6 times that amount at about 7.50 an hour and that was the 5pm to 2am shift, this being in the mid 90's.

You get a trailer about waste deep from front to back filled with parcels, how many think they will be hand placed on the conveyor to run through the system? They get tossed onto it if they are not placed in sacks as the conveyor only goes a few feet into the trailer that's docked.

One of the worst jobs I have ever had, after I quit that job I promised myself I would never hold a factory/plant type position ever again!

I'm not saying what the people in the video did is right, but did they have a right to be filmed without their consent? I mean the video is everywhere now. If I were them I would be talking to a lawyer about now to find the person who filmed the video.

the same argument could be said by anyone who enters a store, or goes to an atm, or walks into a bank, or goes into an airport terminal, or a mall, some schools, or just about any government building.

people don't ask to be recorded by any camera in any of those places, they just deal with it.

there is an expectation of privacy for all individuals. but in a public setting that expectation is reduced immensely or just plain gone.

that's why i'm a firm believer in, "don't do anything in public you don't want the whole world to see." in today's world, there are cameras everywhere and most of them are recording every second of every day. the ones you don't see, those held by other individuals, are the most "dangerous" ones. individuals with cameras will put any video on youtube and your "private" moment will be seen by hundreds, thousands....even millions.

There was this video I saw of someone tossing what looked like a huge flat screen TV over a gated fence and just leave.

Now i know why some people have told me they've gotten a few bad packages cause people don't care.

well, the lady on this video brought shame upon herself, and this video is the perfect example of karma at its best:

she posted the video she recorded on her facebook account and not only did she get tons of hate messages, her video became viral on yt and she was all over the news as the rude dunkin donuts lady who was asking for free food just because she didn't get a receipt. she closed her facebook account and she's probably in hiding now.

You can tell she is a really educated woman. I really feel sad for the younger generation after seeing this, as most (not all) feel this is acceptable behavior. Disgusting how she is being so freaking demanding, not even saying please or thank you. And the swearing is not even needed! The poor guy should not even be in the video, you can tell how uncomfortable he is.

They get paid good enough to not be jagoffs that's for sure! Even if they made minimum wage, there's no excuse for the stupidity displayed on these videos.

what's stupid is that they sometimes don't even knock at your door... they just leave you the "we missed you" notice. this happened to me before and it took 3 visits for my package to be delivered because they were not knocking or using the door bell. didn't they know that they were only wasting their time having to go back 3x because they were too lazy to knock!

I know that UPS and FEDEX delivery people have insane schedules to meet in terms of deliveries per hour. It is much, much worse than the USPS.

That's how it is at UPS as well, our building was designed in the late 60's so the slides and turns are all small.. the biggest issue is you have your light little 1 lb box coming down the slide and a 80 lb pottery barn box right behind it.. well the little box is going to look like a washboard.

Now I've got on other workers about throwing stuff, I give them a number what it costs and they have a shocked ..oh sound.

I don't throw Tv's I've seen people (this is when you have to love electronics) load the damn tv in the truck with the arrow on the top saying front and then start loading stuff on-top of the screen.. I treat the stuff as if it was my own.

If you can afford it, it's better to have Saturday delivery I do Saturday air and it's much more relaxed you only go out with like 17 stops vs having 160-180 on a normal week day.
