If this release is like the first, I'm waiting til the last second to order to ensure that I get a decent sound!

What was it? I think it was Best Buy that was the only retailer that had a DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 at release time.

If you liked the first one I see no reason this film wouldn't satisfy you. It was definitely more of the same, except for Bruce Willis basically being asleep at the wheel.

I believe the single disc blu ray didn't have the 5.1 audio.

Anthony Hopkins, John Malkovich and Helen Mirren. I'm in for a blind buy. Enjoyed the first one.

Agreed. Looks like the $19.99 is the cheapest price, right?

I watched this last night, the first one was a lot better and a movie I can still re-watch any time. This one falls far from the original but still enjoyable if you haven't seen the first. Most of the movie revolves around Bruce Wills, John Malkovich and Mary Loiuse Parker, I probably would have enjoyed it more if they've written Sarah off.

Snagged a copy today at WM priced at 19.96 (21.76 out the door). Yes it's DTS HD-MA, 7.1 in fact.

I picked up 'Red 2' at Best Buy using a $5 savings certificate. I rarely buy anything else but Blu-rays at Best Buy so the $5 certificate would have gone to waste if I didn't use it on a Blu-ray.

Be warned: The slipcover for 'Red 2' is not glossy and the Best Buy price sticker is a pain in the ass to remove! Lots of sticky residue left that I had to carefully tackle with Goo Gone.

I can't wait to show this on Saturday in the Booth Bijou Garage Theater! We're doing the double-feature thing, teaming it with 'Red'! Nothing like a bunch of old farts blowing stuff up and killing bad guys!

I didn't think RED 2 was as good as the first one, it had some funny moments but overall I didn't really enjoy it nearly as much as the first one. Just my opinion there.

I agree with this. It felt a bit 'forced'.

Also, I was really pulled out if the movie by the massive continuity issues between shots. Facial expressions, positions, etc. all changed massively during a conversation between people. In not site if that's in the director or editor, but it was super noticeable and annoying.

Just picked this up @ Best Buy for $14.99...PM Target.
Stupid me, I got one without the extra 20mins of bonus content via CinemaNow.

Anyone watch the bonus content...what does it contain?

Default Audio?

Can someone explain to me if there is a non-DTS-HD MA version out there for sale? I see the title listed here twice (regular and Best Buy exclusive) and both say it has DTS-HD MA 7.1.

I just rented the Blu-ray from Netflix and it's Dolby Digital 5.1 only. Is this an isolated incident? I have the first movie and it's lossless.

I don't want to get into a lossy vs. lossless and which sounds (or should be) better debate, but I don't want one or the other (hi-def audio vs. video), even when renting. I want both if that's what Blu-ray can offer.

For 'Red 2', just the RENTAL disc only has lossy DD 5.1 audio. All retail versions of 'Red 2' have DTS-HD MA lossless sound.

For the original 'Red', the RENTAL disc AND the standard retail version have lossy DD 5.1 audio. For 'Red', just the Special Edition version has DTS-HD MA lossless audio.

As previously discussed, I believe two of the reasons studios use lossy audio on the rental disc is 1) To allow the use of BD25 (save money on rental disc costs) and, 2) To help thwart piracy. Anyone that rents and rips will get a version with lossy audio.

good thing I checked out this thread. I was going to ask if Summit had done the same stupid thing and put DD 5.1 on the rental disc since gohastings has a pv copy of RED 2 for a good price with their sale.... will wait for a cheap sale on the retail disc (as all summit titles do fairly quickly)

I just saw this on HBO and really liked it - maybe more than the first one. Whether more or less, I was surprised since I'd seen some very negative comments. Bruce may have been better - and Helen Mirren and John Malkovich were great (as was the new guy, Byung-hun Lee)! I'll have to get this on BD as soon as the price gets a bit more realistic.

Anyone know what the future of this franchise holds?
There were interviews saying Red 3 was still a possibility but Lionsgate has also talked about wanting to do a tv show since Red 2 didn't perform as they were hoping
