If you're not already frothing at the mouth, this video preview from 1UP should do the trick. They also have two 60FPS 720p vids but they're not all that great of a quality and still need a beastly PC or GPU vid acceleration to play smoothly.
nice.... the demo should be in 1080p 60fps. can't wait to play it!!!

Here's English confirmation about the PSStore demo from IGN.

Quote:
US, March 28, 2007 - Tecmo's PS3 update to the original Ninja Gaiden isn't due out in America and Japan until June, but those wanting a sneak peak will have to wait less than a month. In the latest issue of Japan's Famitsu Weekly, Ninja Gaiden Sigma director Yosuke Hayashi revealed plans to make a playable demo of the game available on the PlayStation Network starting 4/27. The demo will include one specially created chapter that won't be in the final version and will allow players to use a large number of weapons from the start.

The big question is, of course, will owners of PS3s outside of Japan be able to get quick access to the demo through the US and European PlayStation Stores? While Tecmo hasn't made an official announcement, Hayashi did reveal that the demo will include an online score rank mode that will allow players from throughout the world show off their ninja skills. Sounds like PS3 owners everywhere have something to look forward to late next month.

So am I correct in assuming this is the game is in the same genre as God of War? I must admit I know almost nothing about Ninja Gaiden, but I've been following this title fairly closely and it looks very exciting.

In Ninja Gaiden (Sigma) the enemies make more of an effort to try and kill you. You have to block, counter, evade and keep moving at the right times to keep your health up against many types of regular enemy. It's mostly just the bosses that are challenging in DMC and God of War.

It's also worth pointing out how silky-slick and responsive Ryu is to control, the onscreen feedback to input puts you right in the action. No game makes you feel more ninja.

Just ordered from videogamesplus.ca - £34.18 with shipping. If the Japanese version has English text (menus and subtitles) I'll cancel and order that instead.

WOW. Must see is right.

I've never played this series or really enjoyed this genre at all but just might have to reconsider - or at least rent it to see if I can be swayed.
