I look forward to getting Nintendo's first party games on Wii U.

Calling the PS4 games & Xbox One games.. Meh = Nintendo is upset at third party companies abandoning their platform.

Seriously they should just go ahead right now and "punt" in regards to this upcoming generation. They should send the WiiU packing like they did with the Virtual Boy, go back to r&d, and develop some hardware that is competitive or more powerful than Xbone or PS4 and get it on the market in about 2 years. They relied on a gimmick to carry them through last generation but that crap is not going to fly now! They need to work feverishly to mend 3rd party relationships. They need to fully develop a robust network. And finally they need some new franchises!

Comparing launch titles to non-launch titles, that's cool...

The Wii U is interesting, I think one flaw the past systems had was their own disc drive systems. If they became compatible with DVD-Video and Blu Ray, it maybe would have been more successful than they were, with the big exception being the Wii because lets face it, the little system had a fun gimmick. THe problem with the Wii U is the lack of 3rd party software, lack of selling the main controller seperately, and the underpowered hardware that will be obsolete come November 15th. Maybe Sega can finally release the predictably awesome Dreamcast deux with built in 56k internet modem.

its obsolete now. i dont know why nintendo called it a "next-gen" console. i personally think they are behind a generation.

Another turn-off the Wii U still has is the lack of HDD space.

Consumers who own either Xbox or PS would take note of this before buying & probably even did some USB External price matching. Lack of Dolby & dts also hurts because Pro-Logic II can't be used either. It's direct PCM or nothing for audio through HDMi.

It's got a fair share of cons but there is no question it's current multi-plat titles rival current gen in resolution. IMO, I value the Wii U for first party games... The fun stops there.

Only issues I had with audio was initial set-up. My Receiver would not recognize the signal. I had to manually set the output to be forced PCM. I had AC3 on Wii U & the lossless surround sound was awesome. Mario is 2.0 I think. NFS sounds good. I guess it depends on a game by game basis.

Never even heard of the 2DS before reading this thread. After now having a look can't say I'm impressed.

The PS4 and possibly the Vita are the only things I'm interested in going forward.

No interest in 2DS here either. The back catalogue of 3DS & DS will entice buyers though.

I love Nintendo, but their lineup of games for the Wii U is the definition of meh. There's less than a handful of games I want to play on that thing and one of them is a remake of a ten year old Zelda title. They need to do better.

I might get a Wii U just to get the new Zelda game, New Super Luigi U & Pikmin 3. Maybe New Super Mario Bros. U but other than that nothing is inspiring me, contrary to what Fils-Amine says

“And so I think as you compare and contrast Nintendo with other players in the space, for us it’s about games, about the fun, about the entertainment value, and not about the tech.”

Mario is 2.0 PCM & Lego is 5.1 (maybe 7.1) PCM.

Lego is still my favourite. If Nintendo bombs I hope that game comes to PS4.

Contrary to what butthurt fanboys say, Reggie is actually right. PS4 and One's launch line up is "meh." Just more of the same, and the people who buy it turn around and complain how Nintendo always has more of the same. Oh, but of course, it looks good, so apparently all is forgiven.

The video game industry is becoming way too bloated for its own good.
