Default PS3 made me reset my video mode...is this normal?

Hey all,

Yesterday (Tue, Apr. 15th) I turned on my PS3 to discover that my HDMI and resolution settings needed to be re-set, just like when I first bought it. All the other settings had remained the same. Nothing was lost. Is there any reason why this happened? Did it have something to do with the update. I did the update and haven't had a problem since. Any thoughts?

Not common but I don't think it's anything to worry about either.

Either that or it could be you accidentally reset the video mode when you turned it on.

All you have to do is hold down the power button for 5 seconds and it will reset it. This is so if you hook it up to a different TV you can still see the screen enough to adjust how it is connected (eg. HDMI, Composite, etc.)

You know my wife tried to turn it off (and didn't). I bet she held the wrong side of power button down for 5 seconds.

THis happened to me the other day, my lil brother in law went over and turned it off via the back and when i turned it on later i was getting no video. I was starting to freak out, specially since reseting it via the holding button wasnt working. It turned out I had to uplug the ps3 and tv power and cable connections to get it working again. It was weird so it freaked me out but everything seems normal now.
