I picked up Golden ompass and One Missed Call this weekend atthe KC Sony Style store. PQ and SQ were both 4.5 to 5 on Compass. Didn't watch the other one. Imagine my suprise when I walked through the door and there it was, right next to the registar. Both were 29.95.

Its unfortunate for those of you that think she's all that when So Cal's can see multiple females a day that put her to shame while out in public.
What? Jessica Alba in Southern California? where? I live in So Cal

I'd get The Golden Compass in a heartbeat if it wasn't such a sh*tty adaptation of the novel...

Seriously that ending made me furious....

What makes it worse is that they had the perfect cast and awesome graphics...why couldn't they just simply stick to the script.

Oh yeah thats right...its Hollywood and they were trying to make it kid friendly. What a load of bull. I wonder how far they'll go to make The Amber Spyglass "Rated PG"...LMAO. It will be a complete joke.

I would like to make it a blind buy because of hopefully obvious PQ/AQ, but I've heard too many bad things about the actual movie to push me over the edge. Don't get me wrong, after I rent it and its a showcase movie, I'll definately be buying it.

Looks like another movie to wait a few weeks in my Netflix queue!

This is not blind buy material. As I bought it blindly and am disappointed in it.

Without giving too much away. The world its set in is not explained in great detail at the beginning. You hear alot about dust and daemons and such, people are attempting murder and you don't understand why. Its almost like the movie has these secrets it doesn't want the viewer to know about. Then the movie trundles along at a slow pace and it keeps introducing characters and more characters and more characters. Eventually I was like WTF man, just make something happen. Someone die, someone get angry, someone do something FFS.

I don't know, it just seems loosely put together. There isn't enough glue to make the whole movie stick. You also won't give a crap about the characters, who just seem to be there. Kidman is scary one minute and caring the next, I mean WTF man.. consistency.

So...does anyone know/ think Golden Compass is a good movie or not.

p.s - I've seen Jessica Alba shopping in New York and your average 5th avenue starlett turns more heads on the street, but she IS pretty.
(even with no make-up)

One Missed Call is one of the worst reviewed movies in history. I am surprised people are willing to pay $20+ to own it. I don't think I would even rent that one.
