Rent it first.

I felt the same way with National Treasure....i haven't seen either of them... but the people here convinced me i'm better off renting than wasting $40.00 on some movies i may not like.

And trust me...even with a $5.00 coup your better off waiting...the price will come down eventually...

I'd say buy it. It was a great movie imo. If you want to go on the safe side rent it 1st, then decide.

Yeah, plus, don't forget the upcoming holiday season this year. I anticipate there are going to be tons of sales and promotions to really push Blu-Ray to the public. For almost any movie, unless you can get it for $15 or less, it will most likely be on sale by the end of this year. Don't forget the BOGOs and B2G1s.

I would buy it at amazon.com they are the cheapest. But if you are going to bent out of shape over loosing 25.00 then rent it and decide later...

I thought it was a good movie. Just about on par with the Chronicles of Narnia series.

I liked the Golden Compass but I suggest to rent it first. It had great pq.

if you can get it for $20 why not. If you don't like it you can sell it on the forum for that much.

I just watched it last night and would also put it on par with Narnia. If you enjoyed that movie, you will enjoy Compass. The PQ and AQ are awesome, and are enough of a reason to buy.

I bought it, but that's because we liked it at the movies. But if you haven't seen it or read the books, rent it first.

Or, if you just want to tick off your religious friends, buy it.

I actually know some people who think this movie is evil and own't let their kids watch it.

Uhh no this is one case where PQ & AQ do not outweight the movie itself.

This film is an abomination and it should not be bought. Phillip Pullman should be saying something against how they massacred his work of art...

So short answer is NO.

That was actually why I like the movie. I hated the book and they screwed around with the movie enough for me to actually like it

I watched it last night I didn't enjoy it, really disappointed actually and I liked Narnia. The PQ was nice but not enough for me to buy it.

*SPOILER ALERT* KINDA

The movie didn't really end, it was a total setup for another movie that there is no guarantee they will make since the studio was upset with the box office total (70+ million in the US/cost 180 million to make) here in the states. The overseas sales might have helped change their minds since it did over 300 million overseas.

This is why you should rent it first b/c there are varying opinions about this movie. If you like it then buy it.
