Question I'm looking for good websites for finding those HUGE posters

I have noticed some of you have oversized and subway sized movie posters on your home theater walls and they look amazing. I would like to find some of those for myself and maybe help anyone else looking as well. Google came up with a few decent sites and I am still weeding through them. Anyone have any places they found that have good oversized movie/comic and music posters?

These are some I found:

www.posterplanet.com

www.postercheckout.com

www.allposters.com

www.moviepostershop.com

Regular movie posters are 27x40. If you are looking for the bigger ones, they are called "Bus Shelters". Most movie theaters get a lot of them, but with limited cases to accomodate all of the bus shelters at once (I know, I can only put 4 Bus shelters up at my theater and have 15 more in the poster room...just got the new 007 Quantum of Solice in today!). Ask your local theater general manager if you can have one or two that they won't put up (or even the standard posters). Depending on the theater, they may not have anything to do with the posters once they are done, but the staff should get the "first dibbs" before others. Sometimes they need to share with the discount or "dollar" theaters...all depends on the theater chain. Don't ask the assistants as they may be told not to...only the GM can will make the call. What movies are you looking for?

moviegoods.com is where I got most of mine. Not sure if they have the giant ones. I put standard sized ones up.

Thanks for the info. I just found that term 'bus shelter' on one of the sites. Well I was hoping to find a good one for Anchorman and maybe some of the Marvel comic movies. I see too they are pretty expensive, like $80 or so for the larger ones. I found a really cool Spiderman 3 one of the two suits in the reflection, one half is shiny and one half is matte. I am also looking for some music ones, like the ones hanging in the Virgin Megastore or similar music stores. Promo or limited poster/print type stuff. So maybe someone here knows where to find or get those also. I'm looking for anything Daughtry, Dream Theater or Alter Bridge of those. That is a great tip about asking at the movie theater for the bus shelters. Thanks.

if i understood you correctly i believe you are talking about banners. I have theatrical banners since I work at a theatre.

i have 300, corpse bride, nightmare before christmas, all the 3 banners for lords of the ring, Star Wars ep 2 and 3, Batman begins, Superman, all 3 spidey banners, all of the shrek, T3, Madagascar, all the pirates, and seriously many more i don't remember having. I think I have a good 70 to 100 banners.

it is just a privilege you have being a manager at a movie theatre.

Was always wondering what you guys do with those. Tryed offering to buy one they were going to take down over here and the manager said they send them back. Selfish Idiot. (not you. The guy)

Ha Ha....send them back means, "they are going home with me". I don't use that line, as the ones I take never make it to the public view

we don't send them, we keep them/give them out to employees. actually there was one banner that we were supposed to send back it was the original Spider-man because it had the world trade center before 9/11. afterwards sony asked for them back, and almost sued the company because we couldn't find it.

they either get thrown away or workers keep them thats what happens where i work which is Gamestop but if someone asks if they can have it i for one just say sure since it then becomes useless after we dont need the poster anymore

here is what i would do, go to the back of the theater. Wow, you wouldn't believe stuff they throw out there before trash day. befriend with a few workers at the place and perhap they will just let u know when the good stuff is going in the trash can. One of my friend ask if i wanted the hancock poster after the movie, still debating how i'm gonna take it home because that thing is prolly the size of my room or more. lol
