Clint Eastwood might be back as Dirty Harry after all! - Blu-ray Forum

According to IMDB.com, Clint Eastwood might be back reprising his role as "Dirty Harry" Callahan for a next movie entitled "Gran Torino", which is supposed to have a December 2008 release. Clint also plans to direct the movie as well. I don't think that "Gran Torino" is going to be the official title for the next Dirty Harry movie, because Warner Bros. may change it at any time. Also, when I scrolled down to the section called "movie connections", it said that the movie followed "Magnum Force", and I already knew that "Gran Torino" is going to be the long-awaited continuation of the "Dirty Harry" series! I read more about it on another website, and here's the URL:

In a wheel chair maybe. I am all for people getting back to their films from way back when, but obviously - hollywood is at a loss here.

Indiana Jones, Rambo and now Clint Eastwood? They are classics yes, but these guys are not getting any younger and some of them are REALLY showing their age. Time to draw the line

It would be great to see him reprise his role as Dirty Harry but...I'm sure it will be mostly a body double lol.

I heard Clint is consulting with Balco as we speak; says hes gonna "Bulk Up" for this new one giving a new meaning to "Dirty Harry"....

Not really possible as a main character. How is he supposed to chase someone? Let's face it the guy is simply too old.

Look at what Hollywood is currently offering. No wonder why these older guys are still reprising roles from 20 years ago.

I love seeing these iconic characters come back for one last film.

I am very happy about this. The Harry movies aren't big stunt type movies like the Indy movies. They are more cerebral/thriller type. But he does pack a big GUN!

But at 80 years old can he even hold it up, much less fire the thing.

Damn -- always dreamed of writing a Dirty Harry script showing how Harry would have to face mandatory retirement because of his age, and how he would be forced respond to maddening injustice without his gun and badge. Someone just beat me to it.

You guys think this is just a copy of the Rocky 6/Rambo 4/Indiana Jones 4 trend, but I tell you, this one could really amount to something, and have something to say. It is probably the most justified of all of them.

Age issues aside, Eastwood is one of the best directors working today and knows what is required to make a good if not great film, whether he directs it or not. If anyone can pull it off he can. It will probably be more of a detective story then one of his old school action flicks anyway, until its payback time of course.
