How do I convince freinds to go to blu - Blu-ray Forum

All my freinds think im crazy just buying blu rays and said that they wont go to blu for a least a couple of years maybe more but I heard next year people wont have a choice that it will be all blu coming out and no dvd

invite them over to watch some movies. If they are not impressed then don't waste your time trying to convince them.

Just pop the blu-ray in your collection with the best PQ and if that doesn't hook them, then I don't know what will. I mean, after seeing some things in high def, standard def just won't cut it.

Amen, I had some friends who watched mine and one couple went and bought their own set up and another couple didn't see what the big deal was. I didn't try to convince them either way.

i wouldnt even bother, they wont understand it , some ppl are like that: Like my neighbour Chris Said: So what If the PQ is great ? My dvd's are the same, Almost!

First, if they don't have an HDTV, then convincing them to go blu doesn't make sense.

Second, if they do have an HDTV, have them come over and watch a few reference-quality BDs: Ratatouille and I,Robot come to mind. That should how them what BD can do as far as PQ.

Third, if you have a decent sound system, DTS-HDMA from many of the Fox titles should also show them what the possibilities are with AQ.

But in the end, if they're watching SD-DVD on a 27" or 36" CRT TV and have no plans to upgrade, then you're wasting your breath.

Just let them miss out, i've had this problem with my family for years. I try to tell eveyone whats good, for some reason my credibility is naaa. Eventually they end up getting it months later and I tell them told you so. I told them about directv(how i liked it - NOT), TIVO-NOT, surround sound-NOT, PS3-NOT, Blu-Ray-NOT, ipods-still NOT. theres more i just can't think of right now, but you get my drift.

You should just be able to show them and that should seal the deal. I mean honestly, if someone is shown one of the best blu-rays with awesome pq and sound quality to match then there is no freakin' way they shouldn't be able to tell the difference. If they can't, there is no help for them. Everytime my parents come over they rave and rave about how my tv has the best picture they have ever seen and I tell them it's because I'm watching the HD channels, which they can get too if they would get the hd cable box...but they never listen.
