Does anyone know if the PS3 is compatable with Sony's Bravia Theatre Sync? I'm debating which hardware to get, and I can't find an answer to this anywhere...
Thanks! |

Mine does not seem to be. I have the PS3 hooked up to my XBR4 via HDMI with audio going to an old Sony receiver via optic cable so far. I plan on getting the 4300 ES receiver, but I don't know if that would make any difference as far as the PS3 is concerned.

According to Sony, theater sync let's you press one button and all of your Sony products will come to life and work in unison. i.e. you press play on your Blu Ray player and your receiver and tv turn on and they are wild, riled, and totally dialed.
IN R E A L I T Y...it is a gimmick to get you to buy all sony products. Totally cute. I give them edge for trying, but I dont' DO Sony receivers, so I'll pass. It is completely great if you are into it...more power to you and I'd never give somebody shit for wanting the ease-icity, but I think overall...ya miiiiiiiiight not wanna pick your components based on this particular feature. (and mind you...I have two Sony components and a PS3) later, Good luck with your setup Enjoy. |

![]() Actually I admit something terrible... I saw this sony flash drive, it was more expensive then any other flash drive at the same size, but it had a piano black and a chrome finish... I bought and put into my ps3... ![]() It was such a sexy flash drive though except if you touch it... lol |

That's sort of funny that Sony's premier home device, the PS3, doesn't sync with all their other stuff.
I guess my Cinema Sync is my Harmony 880. Push one button, and I'm ready to go. - Wait a sec. -I have to get up and press the power button on my PS3. Okay, now I'm ready to go. I guess the PS3 just doesn't play as well as it should with others yet... |

My tv also reports that the ps3 is not a device it can take over through hdmi.
Basicly you get two free options, Turn on tv device does... <nothing < turns on Turn off tv device does... <nothing < turns off |
