Default Bravia sync in fat ps3?

Hi, I got a sony tv and receiver.. yeah i am sony fanboy :P... Anyways I noticed the PS3 Slim has bravia sync. My tv does finds the receiver but does not find the PS3. If there any word that they will add this feature to the fat ps3s. Is there a hardware limitation preventing fat ps3 from having this feature? What are your thoughts?

I believe it's a limitation of the HDMI hardware used in the older PS3's so a firmware update will never add that. Someone else with more knowledge may contradict me though.

Correct.
The updated hdmi chip in the slim allows for the bravia sync. And your right, a firmware update will never change that for phat owners.
