I see that xploitedcinema.com still has it in stock. A little pricey, though. I'm pretty sure Criterion will release it in the U.S. eventually.

Smile Seventh Seal Sold Out

Hi! just joined this forum so that I could reply to you! I personally saw this title on sale(one copy left) at HMV in Selfridges 2 days ago. I scan my eyes from A-Z routinely (for issues from smaller distributers like ICON, where stores may only have a copy for a short period) and was suprised to see on sale still. I already have it in my 360+ BD collection. It still at normal expensive retail about £25 from memory... Tartan issues not reduced as time went by... I cannot recall seeing this in their 2 other big stores on Oxford Street recently.... Hope this helps.. PS... Selfridges (HMV concession) Oxford Street, London W1.

Do you think another label will pick it up and re-release it?

It would be awesome if MoC started releasing Bergman on BD...

It would. If you're a Bergman fan though you should really go region free and import the Criterion blus. Beautiful releases well put together, most of them are packed with extra goodness too.
It looks like their lining Persona up for their next Bergman release.

Someone asked them on FB a couple of months ago (I think) and they said they still have the rights. When Palisades bought Tartan it included the rights for the films aswell. Of course some of them have gone to AE.

Tartan released Fanny & Alexander on DVD at the start of the year, so they've probably kept hold of the "big" ones.

I already own most of the CC Bergman DVDs, just not the Blus (due to lack of region freeness).

I'm still waiting for a decent, cheap multi region player. In the mean time, as CC are now going dual format, I will buy all the new titles, watch the DVDs and wait for the day when I can watch the blus. I may even make my own dual format releases for the older stuff (buy the blue and put the DVD in the box with a tray).

I'm utterly hyped for Persona! This is one of my favourite Bergmans.
