I was looking into maybe getting this for the PS4 but noticed a week or two ago that Amazon removed the PS4 version. I've also noticed that Gamestop doesn't have a date anymore either.
Anyone heard anything about this game getting delayed or something? |

Which is off considering I bought this very game from Amazon (it was delivered and have actually played it on my PS4). They must have a hard time getting restocked.

So apparently all characters from previous versions work? This is confusing. There are 8 for sale for Swap @ $15 each. ($120) On the official site there are 56 but Amazon's site doesn't have them listed as PS4 format. Is this true that all characters will work on PS4 SwapForce & the only difference with older characters is that you can't.. mix & match? I'm thinking of maybe just going for the 16 total characters that will eventually make there way for sale. So far there are 8 you can get right now. I'd like them all if they do work but the prices are too much for me. |

This new game is the biggest rip off yet!
![]() My son got the starter pack and 3 triple packs for Xmas and out of the 3 triple packs, that's nine characters, not any of them are actually swappable! So he has 12 characters in total and is still unable to open certain gates to advance in the game so needs even more characters. Disgusting rip off ![]() |

You should have first consulted your son. Mine, at now 6 years-old, is a bona-fide expert on the topic. When not playing, or asking to play, he is scouring over the poster with all 56 figures (that came with the game), scheming his next move. We are up to 15 figures now, with all 12 of the current swap-ables. With the holidays over, I hope the madness stops soon.

The swap force characters are pretty visually different both in and out of their packaging. With a quick look at a store you can see which are the swap characters (paper wheel on the top left) vs regular. They don't sell 3 packs of the swap guys. No specific character is needed to advance the game. Yes, there are bonus areas you may not be able to complete, but they will not stop you from finishing the main game. Even then, there is only one type of mini-game (the movement ones) that requires the swap force figures. All other combo elemental gates can be opened with a single swap figure or by bringing 2 different character to the gate. If you need life/magic it's as simple as starting controller 2, putting the second element on, letting the gate open, and then pulling out the 2nd player. Not going to argue that the game is or isn't a rip off, but Bageara, a lot of the specific hate you're delivering there is down to user error, not the game itself. Sorry, but I had to point it out. You can basically finish the whole game with just the starter. Also, one thing I do like about the new game is that the swap force figures aren't that much more powerful than the regular figures or feel that required. In Giants, it felt like the Giants were a definite advantage over the regular figures. In Swap Force, the tops and bottoms have smaller advancement paths, so a fully maxed out Wash Buckler doesn't seem that much better/worse more essential/less essential than say a maxed out Night Elf, Spyro, or Chop Chop. If anything, with the new versions of the regular figures getting 1-2 new powers over their Spyro/Giants versions they are the strongest characters in the game, not the swap guys. Also, I do give Activision credit for not being total money hats in one way. Total collection is not tied to trophies. Yes, you do need at least enough characters to have the 8 elements and the 6 movement types to plat it - but theoretically you can do that with no more than 8-10 carefully chosen characters (some of which can be old Spyro or Giants figures). |
