Picking up new RECV. Friday Marantz SR=7002 .Got ? Again..

Okay I asked before , but still not really getting the feedback I was asking ,please any help & simple answer . this is the deal I have this Bluray Sony BDS-300 & the marantz SR-4001 NOW.. Looking to upgrade to the Marantz SR-7002 BUT...MY ?'s below . Will it really make a difference ,& yes I know it's a 110 watts a chanl. & THX & it has DTS-HD Master Audio & Dolby True HD .

So if I set it up this way .

BD-300> PCM > DISC to DTS -MA - SR-4001 > PCM it = PCM Sounds awsome.. ( Is this Uncompressed Audio sound ? )

BD-300> Auto > DISC to dts-MA - SR-4001 > dts MA = DTS sounds really good . ( This is just dts right ? )

BD-300> PCM > disc to DTS -HD or D-HD > SR-7002 > PCM = ( What ? )

BD-300> Auto> disc to DTS HD or D-HD> SR-7002 to DTS-HD or D-HD = (WHAT? )

So more or less asking do I really need to go to the SR-7002 ,if I already have PCM on the BDS-300 & the SR-4001 . Am I already gettin the uncompressed & Losses Audio sound from DTS-HD -Master Audio & Dolby true -HD .

I see on other ? that when PCM is selected , that the DTS & Dolby HD don't come on < So are they really getting that or is PCM , that already .?

Also = Bitstreaming , how does this come in to Play ?

BOTTOM LINE- Do I really need to spend the Money and upgrade to the Marantz SR-7002 ? or is the way I'm doing by going PCM the same ?


REALLY what is the benifit from upgrading? Please explain this to me , this is alot of Money right now & really don't want to waste it ,if I'm not going to really hear the difference.

PS, I will be buying the Marantz BD-8002 Blu-Ray later this year no matter what , Will this make any difference also ?

I'll try to answer some of your questions.

You only need a receiver than can decode the lossless codecs (DTS-ma and Dolby TrueHD) if your BD player can bitstream the data to the receiver. IIRC, your BD cannot bitstream these two codecs, so you don't need a new receiver if the lossless codecs are the only thing you want. There are other reasons to upgrade your receiver, which might make it worthwhile regardless.

The other thing to bare in mind is futureproofability (is that a word?!). By getting a receiver that can decode the advanced codecs now, you will be all set should you get a player that [i[can[/i] bitstream them.
