Angry Help needed - Samsung Plasma picture problem

Hi guys

I got a brand new Samsung PS51F8500 on Saturday, and when watching Blu-rays, there appears to be a short 'pause' of sorts appearing in the picture (like if i was to pause the picture for a second)- only for a split second, and usually appears right after a black screen (watching modern family where the black screen appears after each segment in the show)

I have tried all the different settings, but nothing is helping.

I am wondering if its just a faulty panel, and maybe I should return it for a replacement?

or is there an easy fix I'm not seeing?

This TV got universal praise on review sites and cost me €2000 so I definitely know this problem shouldn't be happening.

Any help much appreciated!

Thanks
Sam.

This is normal for Samsung LEDs. What you are seeing is the microdimming turning off the backlight on all black transition screens. This is to compensate for the TV's inability to produce adequate black levels.

Depending on your model, you may or may not be able to turn this feature off.

The model the OP quoted and purchased is a plasma, not an LED .

Does this anomaly only appear with BD or does broadcast content have the same issue? Sounds like an issue with the BD player of it's connection.

Also try the "movie" mode, which is likely the best picture quality viewing mode.

Just noticed that. I saw F8500 and that he was in Europe and thought of the F8500 LED.

It happened on all 3 of my blu ray players which all have never had this problem before on my older TV's. I do not watch live tv on it. It also happened when playing video files from my usb so its not just the bd players. One of those players is brand new also.
I tried movie mode, and all the other modes too. No change.

Do you think its a faulty panel?

Only way to find out is to swap out. Peace of mind goes along way so definitely exchange prior to a return period expiring. That way you know for sure.

I have requested a replacement and it will be coming in two weeks time. (they were out of stock)

I hope its just a bad tv I got, as this tv has gotten rave reviews from everyone & i am really happy with it, bar that one problem.
